It's been since almost a year since I've seen Kade. We broke up the previous December. Kade and I dated when I lived in Florida for a year. I thought I left him there when I left Florida. How he even got my address I'm still shocked.
"Why are you here." I asked.
"To see you." He replied.
"Well you're not welcome here." I said angrily trying to shut the door.
"June please let me explain." He said stepping inside.
"Give me one good reason why I should." I said crossing my arms.
"Because." He said as he moved closer in.
"Because...." I asked.
"Because I'm not over you June. I miss you and I'm still in love with you."
I just stood there. Staring. I didn't know what to say or what to do. Thankfully someone else broke the silence. It was the sound of Roman's fist hitting the side of Kade's jaw.
"What the HELL do you think you're doing coming here to see her." He yelled.
"Coming to see MY girl." Kade said, rubbing his now swollen jaw.
"Then how come she's never mentioned you." Roman said, squinting his eyes.
"Maybe because she didn't want you to know about what we did last summer." Kade said smirking. "June looks good on her knees."
Roman swung again. And this time Kade swung back. The two were on top of each other, beating the life out of one another. I started screaming and trying to pull them off of each other, but Barry held me back. I was kicking and screaming as Kade slammed Roman's head onto the sidewalk. Roman stopped moving. A pool of blood formed around Roman's head. Noah and Daniel rushed over to him and started yelling. It happened so fast. I broke free of Barry's grasp and ran over to Roman. I grabbed his tattooed wrist. There wasn't a pulse. My vision went foggy. Sirens wailed and lights flashed. Roman was put on a gurney, and Kade on another. I was helped into the back of a separate ambulance, Logan, Barry, London and Daniel were put on my ambulance. I leaned on Logan and started balling
"He wasn't breathing." I sobbed.
"He'll be okay." Daniel said.
"It's probably a concussion." Barry said.
"June who was that." London asked.
"Kade." I said staring at the ceiling.
"He's my ex."
The ambulance pulled up outside, and we were all taken off. I was given a blanket because I was "going into shock." They took me into a waiting room. I begged to see Roman. They said he was going into surgery. I ran into the hallway to see his gurney being pushed down the hall. I walked beside it. I grabbed his hand. It was cold. "Roman stay with me." I pleaded. "Please come back to me." I looked at his face and a tear rolled down my cheek. "I love you Roman."
Three hours later, and a doctor came out. Roman's gran Louise had already arrived, and she sat next to me holding my head on her shoulder. We stood up when the doctor came in. "Are you two Roman Queen's family?" He asked. "Yes." Louise replied for the both of us. "Follow me." He said. "I'm Dr. Mitchell. I just performed your grandsons surgery. His lower skull was cracked when his head hit the concrete. Blood was rushing to his brain at rapid paces. We removed the blood, but he's in a coma. He's not waking up anytime soon." The doctor said. I gasped and put a hand over my mouth. "How long." Louise asked. "We're lucky if he wakes up." Dr. Mitchell said. Louise walked into his room. I let her go alone. Ten minutes later she came back out. "Go." She said to me. "You're the one he needs in there."
I walked in. He was too pale, and he had tubes up his nose. I sat on the bed and took his hand again. I looked at him. I missed his smile, and I wondered if I'd ever see it again. That thought made me tear up again. I then noticed a tattoo on his collarbone. I looked closer. It was my handwriting. "Blessed be the boys time can't capture." I gasped and started crying again. I had wrote it on his chest one day at the beach in henna. It was my song. I had told him I put it on thins that I love. He had tattooed it to himself. I leaned down and kissed him. "Roman you need to wake up."
His hand moved.
