"Are you sure this is the place Skye?"
"Yea cause I would definitely forget where someone was killed in front of me."
"Oh sarcasm much....."
They stood in front of a giant tree but it was dying. There were no leaves and the surrounding grass was brown with weeds popping out of everywhere. On one of the long branches sat a boy.
"Louie?!"
Louie jumped at the sudden call of his name. He jumped down from the tree and landed without a sound.
"What do you lot want?"
"I think you know want we want Louie"
The smirk on his face disappeared.
"I don't have a clue"
"We know you're a Lethe."
Louie sighed realising exactly what they wanted.
"If you want your memories, I need something from you"
"What exactly?"
Louie looked around at the dying plants and trees.
"Bring back the colour...... only you guys can do it. We need fire to burn the weeds. Air to clear the leaves away. Earth to repair the ground with fresh dirt. And water to feed the plants."
"If we do this, do you promise to give us our memories?"
"I will try my best to retrieve them"
Zach started to burn the weeds, being careful not to burn any living grass. Eva blew the leaves and dead weeds away. Austin worked on repairing the ground and broken trees. Skylar watered the floor and plants. Once everyone was done, the area looked brand new. Not a patch of dying plants, trees or grass could be seen.
"Now we need our memories Louie."
"Of course. I'll give them back but it will take time for them to be fully recovered almost as if you had amnesia."
"We get it as long as we remember soon."
Louie put one head on both Eva and Austin's head and weird sparks began to surround their heads. Next it was Zach and Skylar, the same thing happened.
"It shouldn't take too long for the memories to come back but I'll warn you that when they do come back, you might not like what you see."
"In the end it doesn't matter. Without this we will never know what happened"
"I can I talk to Austin and Skylar quickly?"
"It's fine guys we'll meet you back at the house"
The others left hesitantly.
"Is it true that you've had dreams?"
"More like nightmares but yes it's true"
"I'm warning you, be careful. You shouldn't be able to remember so someone is forcing the memories to the surface."
"We'll be careful can we go now?"
"I'd like to speak to Skylar first"
Skylar nodded her head to Austin to tell him to go.
"That bruise on your wrist isn't from fighting is it?"
"How did you know about that?"
"Someone is basically poisoning you and your friends but the results in your case are leaving physical evidence. You have to tell them before it gets worse."
"I can't."
"Why not?!"
"Because no one cares!"
Louie looked at her shocked and confused. Skylar sat down and let out a deep breath.
"You have a problem and you want to tell someone but when they ask if you're okay, all you say is 'yea' when really the amount of stuff you could say would shock them. No one cares about your problems because they have their own so they push yours aside when you need them to help you. Then one day it gets too much and they don't understand where everything you say is coming from and they don't realise it's been bottled up for so long and you didn't get a chance to say it out loud. I want to tell them but I'm afraid they'll be affected by it so I keep it inside until the day when I'll explode and they will look at me like I'm crazy."
"Skylar......"
"Don't. I need to go before I say anything else I'll regret"
And with that she walked away.
