Chapter 18

"Where are they?!"

"Calm down Kirsty. I doubt they are as excited as you."

Kirsty replied with a glare. A cloak walked up to Kirsty and whispered in her ear.

"They're here."

Eva, Austin, Zach and Chad walked up to the middle of the clearing. Skylar looked to the floor.

"You really are idiots aren't you?"

"Didn't want to ruin your fun."

"Anyway we came for our friend not you."

"You still believe she cares for you?"

"We don't believe......"

"We know."

Kirsty was getting more angry while Skylar looked indecisive.

"NOW!!!"

Austin, Eva and Zach looked down and used their magic. Austin created an earthquake which caused the cloaks to fall. This gave Eva the opportunity to send a twister and Zach was ready to set fire to the ground when they landed.

"ENOUGH!!!"

They stopped and looked at Kirsty.

"What scared we'll actually beat you."

"You know you should be careful what you say in the forest. Especially if it involves your weakness."

Skylar looked at Kirsty. Little did anyone know Skylar was remembering everything.

As she was about to look into the water she heard something.

It was Eva, she was in the woods for the same reason, she wanted to be free of reality. Skylar went up to her.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah. It's just good to be away from everything."

It was Austin. Eva quickly yelled "Hey".

Austin reacted quickly to this and greeted them both. It was so strange. Usually when Skylar went to the forest she would be alone but now there were two more people there and on the exact same day.

They all hit it off straight away.

It was Zach. As soon as Skylar saw him she turned her head away from him. Zach walked closer to them. Austin was the first to greet him and then Eva but Skylar did not.

Skylar quickly came up with an excuse to leave. She left Austin and Eva alone with Zach and quickly went home. She ran straight to her room, ignoring everything her parents and brother were saying to her. She locked her door and hid under the covers. That night all she thought about was the new friends she had made.

Skylar walked through the corridors. Everyone was looking at her. It was driving her crazy. Eva and Austin showed up.

"Come with me.".

Before they could say anything Skylar grabbed their arms and dragged them both away.

"What's going on Skye?" Eva asked.

Austin noticed something about her breathing and shouted the first thing that popped into his head "It's a panic attack! I've had them before.".

Eva shot up when she heard that and her response was "Of course. Why didn't I realise sooner? I've had them as well."

They tried to calm her down. They brought a bottle of water for her to drink. When she saw it she flipped out.

"Quick get rid of it!" Eva screamed.

They told her breathe. At that moment Zach turned the corner and saw Skylar. He ran to the three of them and asked what was wrong. They explained to him. He told them to back up. He sat in front of Skylar. He held her hand and told her to follow his breathing. She didn't at first but after a while she did. She calmed down.

"I'm sorry." She said.

The other three looked at her confused.

"I dragged you off. I don't know what's going on today." She said as she put her head in her hands.

Eva smiled and said "Don't worry it's been happening to me too. I shouted at my sister today for the first time."

Austin also commented by saying "Same here. I told my parents that I don't care about what they think."

Skylar started to lift her head up. Zach was the last one to say "Exactly the same has been happening to me. I finally stopped the boys from picking on someone."

All of them smiled at each other.

Skylar heard the commotion and ran to where it was coming from. She saw Glozine defending herself and quickly joined in. Waterballs everywhere from skylar aswell as weird sparkles from Glozine. The others heard it and started to run back but were stopped by cloaks. They tried to fight them as quickly as possibly but more and more appeared. Skylar was so close to her when she saw a cloak behind Glozine. Skylar tried to run but something or someone held her back. She couldn't see their face but it didn't matter because she didn't take her eyes off Glozine. Then it happened. The cloak took his knife and dug it into Glozines back. "NOOOOOOO!" Glozine fell to the floor. Skylar screamed and all around water could be seen. It was taking all the cloaks out one by one even the ones attacking the others. The thing holding her let go. Skylar ran to Glozine. "ZACH! EVA! AUSTIN!" They heard her scream and the others ran as fast as they could.

"Hold on Glozine the others are coming." Tears fell from her eyes "I'm sorry for what I said. I'm sorry for it all. Please you're the only one who can protect them." Glozine smiled "You... must..pro..tect each..other." Blood covered the floor and skylar. "You...can do...it. You're all...the...elements." The others arrived and ran to Glozine and skylar. "Protect...each..other. I will...be here." And with that Glozines hand fell to the ground and her eyes closed.

"Hey your lip is bleeding." Zach looked as she wiped her hand over her mouth.

"If they hadn't pulled me off that guy he would've been in a much worse state."

Skylar looked at him in surprise never expecting him to say that. She was about to say something but held back and just smiled. She felt her heart beating faster than ever before. She was feeling something but she didn't know what.

"I've waited for this day. At last I shall control the elements. I am Monica."

The five look at each other and back.

"Over our dead bodies."

Skylar quickly added.

Monica said through gritted teeth "That can be arranged."

She walked up to her and pulled Skylar's hair back making Skylar face her.

"You know you should be careful what you say in the forest. Especially if it involves your weakness."

Skylar took a deep breath in but it wasn't loud enough for anyone to hear. Tears threatened to spill but she controlled herself and continued to listen to Monica.

"I will win! I'll rule this world!"

"Hmmmm well......"

Everyone was shocked by Skylar's quiet comment.

"What are you doing?! Don't do something you'll regret! I will be the strongest being to live."

"Over our dead bodies."

Skylar walked up to her friends and smirked at Kirsty.

"After all we defeated you once...........Monica."
