Lauren's POV

"No I burn pretty much anything I touch when it comes to cooking, you have no idea," Camila joked.

We had just finished our breakfast and since I promised her I'd build a fort with her, here I am, following her into the living room to build a fort on a gorgeous day. It's funny how she chose to do the furthest thing possible from enjoying the outdoors but hey, she's amazing so I'm not complaining.

"But if you really want a burnt grilled cheese, I'm available any time." We laughed and walked until we both spotted something on the ground in front of us and stopped. A long trail of muddy dog footprints traveled all through the hallway and out the back door which we accidentally left open. Camila looked over at me and I looked at her and she laughed but I was not so amused.

"TUCKER!" I yelled. Camila just laughed harder as I started stomping towards the back door to see Tucker covered head to tail in mud and anything that could stick to that which is a lot.

As I stormed towards Tucker, he turned around, saw me furious, and sat down, tucking his tail. I bent down next to him to get a better view of the damage. It was everywhere, smeared all over his face and even inside his ears somehow. I heard Camila giggle now beside me and looked up at her.

"Can you help me, Tucker's gonna need a bath." She found this all very amusing until she found out she's getting roped into this mess as well.

"What nooooo, I'm going to get as messy as he is right now," she whined. I just shrugged and continued to inspect Tucker.

"I'm sorry but he's really dirty and there's no way I'm letting him back into the house. C'mon go grab an old t-shirt and some shorts, we'll just hose him off out here," I said. She just crossed her arms and looked at me annoyed. "Pleeeeaaassseee," I begged and gave her a pouting face.

"Ugh, fine." She rolled her eyes and smirked knowing I was going to get my way. I went over to turn on the hose when she walked off into the house. Once she came back I took a quick glimpse at what she was wearing, very short shorts with a baggy white v-neck t-shirt. It made her look like she wasn't wearing any pants when the shirt draped past her shorts so that wasn't helping my concentration on Tucker.

After we first rinsed him, we scrubbed him with soap twice since once wasn't enough, and hosed him down again. At the end of it, both of us were almost as washed off as Tucker since he shook his fur every chance he got. Camila tried holding him down but was cautious about getting too soaked, which obviously didn't matter once done.

When we dried off Tucker, Camila was rubbing his face with the towel when he surprise licked her nose, eliciting her cute little giggle and a big smile. I noticed my heart is becoming easier to warm when I'm around her, it's just every little thing she does, my heart can't catch a break. She noticed me smiling large at her reaction and held eye contact while continuing to focus her hands on Tucker and the towel covering him. Her eyes bore into mine almost teasingly. To top it off, she slowly bit her bottom lip and release it which made it bounce back, now pink and shiny.

Little things like that have been happening more and more often lately and it's starting to become very hard for me to brush them off. The urge to do things that friends normally don't do has been increasing lately which worries me. I don't want to feel these things towards her but at this point I can't help it. I think I'm falling.

I snapped myself out of it when she broke eye contact and transferred her smile back down to Tucker and kissed the top of his furry head. I wondered if she knew how just the simplest things made me feel. I wish she did.

"Lauren," Camila said. I shook my head and widened my eyes to pay attention which made her giggle. "Do you want to go back inside now?" she asked.
