Lauren's POV

"Good afternoon sleepy," I said as I took in the girl walking towards me's outfit. Sweats, classy but comfy.

"It's already the afternoon?" she said concerned, finally reaching me.

I let out a small laugh at the fact that she didn't she's been sleeping in until about 12:30. "Yeah but that's okay. There's never any rush to wake up early unless the cattle need feeding," I assured her.

"Well that's good," she said looking around not really knowing what to do. She then looked down at Tucker and bent down to pet him.

"I see you've met Tucker."

"Yeah he's so adorable. I actually used to have a dog that looked like him when I was young. Her name was Lily."

"I've had dogs all my life and it got kind of lonely around here lately so I decided to adopt him. I think they said he was only four months when I got him so now he should be about nine months old."

"I'm sure he's good company. What kind is he?"

"I think it's some sort of a golden retriever, husky mix," I questioned.

"Well he's perfect but kind of shy."

"Apparently not anymore," I said laughing as I saw him licking Camila's cute scrunched up face.

"Um I'm almost done here and then we can go into town to get some things and groceries," I spoke up again.

"Okay wonderful I guess I'll go get ready then," she said getting up and starting to take slow steps backwards towards the porch. "Oh and thank you for the breakfast, that was really sweet of you."

"No problem, just trying to make you as comfortable as possible here at the Casa de Jauregui,"I said as she walked back into the house and giggled quietly which made me smile.

It's true though. I wanted her to feel at ease here. I know it might be a little scary being placed with a random stranger for the whole summer so I plan on making it as amazing as I can. I actually it's working, she seems to already be getting settled.

------------------------------------------

Once we got to town I parked and we got out. I could see Camila looking all around at every little shop and restaurant.

"It's not much but it does the job," I said looking at her noticing she was still taking in her surroundings.

"I like it though. It's quaint yet has pretty much everything you need."

"Yeah but I wish there was a McDonald's," I joked and heard the air rush out her nose as she internally laughed.

"Where are we going anyways?" she questioned.

"Just down the block here, I need to get some dog food."

Once we got inside I picked up the big bag of dog kibble, payed the kind cashier and slung the bag over my shoulder.

"Doesn't that weigh a lot?" she asked me almost amazed.

"Not really, I mean I'm used to it by now with all the things I have to carry around the farm. Better get used to doing it too or I'll send you back to wherever you came from with a 'Defected' note on your forehead," I joked again. After I didn't hear her laugh I quickly looked over at her and noticed her wide eyes. She still wasn't used to my sarcasm yet apparently.

"I'm joking again Camila, calm down," I said with a smile quickly in order for her breathing to settle.

"Oh my god, I really have to figure you out soon or you're going to give me a heart attack."
