3rd Person POV:

Isabella's father grit his teeth angrily, pacing the floor as repairs were being finished on his damaged house. "Those lowlife pirates...barging into my home, MY HOME!!! And destroying everything!" He rants, throwing his hands in the air wildly while his wife bowed her head beside him sadly.

"They also took our daughter." She whispers and he scoffs.

"Of course they would. I don't know what that pirate wants with my daughter, but he better bring her back! I have an arranged marriage that I have promised and I can't just let that go! Isabella should've been more careful. She's clueless, that's why she was taken. And now we have to resort to drastic measures to get her back, all for a marriage!!" He shouts and Isabella's mother gives him a harsh look.

"Now you listen here! Our daughter is worth more than some stupid marriage you've arranged!! We have the gold sorted out already that he's asked for, but if you don't get hold of the King, I swear I'm going to make you do it!" She yells at him, making him take a step back.

"Now, dear don't get like this." He says nervously and she shakes her head. "No! You don't care about Isabella's safety and that's why she was taken! She probably doesn't mind being away from home, because she never wanted to get married in the first place. But you never listen to her." his wife rants and he sighs, giving in to her.

"Alright, alright. I get it, dear. I'll contact the King." he says submissively and she smiles at him victoriously, proud of herself for finally standing up to him. She was tired of him always treating Isabella horribly but she was ashamed that she didn't do anything earlier.

Isabella's father walked out of the room and into his office, picking up a phone and dialing a number. This is going too far...if I can actually arrange a meeting with the King, it'll be a miracle.

"What do you need, Will?" the voice snapped from the other side and Will sighed, rubbing his temples with his free hand. "Listen, Rob. Isabella's been kidnapped by pirates, and the requirement for them to give her back is a meeting with the King." Will says rushed and he's met with silence on the other side.

"Are you out of your mind? It's near to impossible to get a meeting with him!" Rob scolds and Will huffs angrily. "It wasn't my choice, Rob! This isn't exactly anything I wanted to deal with. I know you have personal connections to the King, and I need you to tell him about this. I am a Governor, so that puts me in high standings with him already, but he needs an extra push before he would listen to me." he says aggravated and he hears Rob's irritated sigh.

"I'll do what I can, Will. But I can't make any promises." Rob says after a moment of silence and Will sighs relieved. "Good, because I have a marriage I need to organize, and with Isabella gone, it will mess everything up." Will says and he hears Rob's disbelieving scoff.

"Are you serious Will? Your daughter has been kidnapped and all you can think about is that stupid wedding? You must be insane." Rob growls and Will rolls his eyes. "Whatever, just please, do me that favor." Will says before hanging up, letting out a sigh as he shakes his head.

"You're really in for it this time, Isabella. The next time I see you...I swear I'll make you regret being taken." Will mutters angrily, storming out of his office to see the repairs on the house. In his mind, it was Isabella's fault for the raid from the pirates, and it was her fault that she was taken. He was blaming everything on her, and he was going to make sure she regretted it the next time they met.

In the meantime, Rob set the phone down, shaking his head solemnly at Will's request. That selfish jerk, he can't even think about the well-being of his own daughter, because it'll take away from his 'good name' Sometimes I even wonder if that man has a heart inside of him. He thought bitterly and turned away from the phone.

Rob walked out of the room he was in and started walking up the stairs, nervousness filling him as he thought of what he was about to ask. He was indeed the King's top councilman, but that doesn't mean that the King actually listened to him. He was going to be putting himself on the line this time, and Will should know that too.

What am I thinking? That man doesn't care if I lose my job or not. All he cares about is that wedding. Rob thinks grimly and looks down at his feet as he walks up the stairs. If Isabella was kidnapped, why would a pirate ask for a meeting with the King? That in itself doesn't make much sense, but I guess when you're a pirate and you're negotiating, you can put out as many dirty tricks you want to, and no one can refuse them.

"Such selfish men..." Rob whispers sadly, knowing that Isabella was caught in the middle of things she didn't need to be.

He got to the large, golden trimmed door as the top of the stairs and took in a deep breath. Rob raised a shaky fist and knocked on the door softly, nervousness filling his eyes as he stared at the closed doors.

"Come in." a voice said from inside and Rob sighs, taking one last deep breath before entering the room with a fearless look, not showing how scared he was. The King could be ruthless, if you got on his bad side. So Rob had to tread gently, especially with a subject like this.

"My King." Rob says respectfully, bowing gently as a man turned to him, broad shoulders that held a red cape that flowed to the ground, piercing green eyes that were already filled with judgment staring right back at Rob.

"Rob? What are you doing here at this time of day? Usually you don't come with a report for another three hours or so." The King says thoughtfully, gesturing for Rob to come over to him. Rob does so hurriedly, not wanting to keep him waiting.

"I...I've heard some tragic news, Sire." Rob says and the King gives him a raised eyebrow, curious to what Rob was going to say. "What is it?" he asks and Rob takes a deep breath, looking at the King evenly.

"Isabella Perkins has been kidnapped." he says and the Kings' eyes widen in shock, his gaze falling to the floor as fear began to well up inside him. It can't be... "By who?" the King asks lowly, not looking up at Rob.

"By a pirate." Rob says, confused on how the King is taking this news. "Do you know the pirate's name?" The King asks swiftly, now staring back at Rob with pleading eyes. "N-no sir. That information wasn't given to me." Rob says startled, taking a step back from him.

"Why are you telling me this?" The King asks and Rob hangs his head slightly. "The pirate who captured her...wanted a meeting with you. That was one of his conditions to give her back." Rob says sadly and the King holds a hand to his head, not sure on how to take this.

"Thank you, Rob, for telling me. I will indeed have a meeting with him." he says and Rob gives him a shocked look. "Oh...okay. I'll go let Governor Perkins know." Rob says and leaves the room quickly, quite stunned by the way the King took this news. Why was he acting like this?? Rob wonders, but shakes it off as he closes the door.

The King lowers himself into a chair, a hand on his forehead as he shakes his head slowly. "Why? Why now? Why show yourself now?" he mutters gravely, looking out the window and at the sea. "The greatest threat of all...has finally done it. And I wasn't prepared. I should've stopped him earlier when I had the chance." he whispers, sighing sadly as he knew what was bound to happen.

"This, is not good."
