Isabella's POV:

It was midday, and right now we were sailing peacefully on the sea, nothing seeming to be wrong. I had finished mopping the deck like I normally do, and was no standing at the railings of the ship, looking out at the sea once again.

It had been three days since Harry had told me that he was the little boy that had left whenever I was younger, and I can honestly say that everything was looking bright for us. I didn't feel like I had any worries anymore.

Except for whenever I had to face my father. I know I told Harry that I was going to face him and tell him that I wouldn't marry someone I didn't know, but in all honesty I was scared. My father could be a cruel person to get what he wanted, and I was his main victim for that.

That's why, whenever I did face him, I would have to be prepared for anything that he may throw at me, which is why I'm so worried. I couldn't possibly prepare myself for everything that he could think up, I just have to make sure I know that and accept that he could do something completely out of proportion.

"Enjoying the view?"

Harry's voice broke me from my thoughts and I turn around, seeing him looking at me with a smile. I nod my head to him happily, a smile coming to my face as I turn back around to the sea, watching the waves go up and down.

His arm goes around my waist and his head rests on my shoulder, my smile widening as I feel his hair tickling the side of my face. Once you get past the strong, tough demeanor that he puts on as a captain, he's really just a little kid.

"Soon we'll be able to enjoy this view all the time." Harry muses and I nod my head. "Yes, we will...won't we?" I ask, glancing at him and he smiles at me.

"Nothing would change that." he says and I nod my head to him. It was amazing how he was once the pirate I feared and hated, but now loved and admired. It's strange how things work out, isn't it?

We hear the scuffling of feet and both of us turn around as we see Louis running up to us, a worried look on his face. "What's wrong?" Harry asks immediately and Louis stops, catching his breath before speaking.

"Niall and Liam spotted three government ships behind us, and they're gaining fast." he says and my eyes widen. Government ships? No...it can't be... Would he really go THAT far?

"Then we're going to have to prepare for the worst. If they get too close and threaten our ship, we fire immediately. I don't care if they're government ships or not, they won't hurt my crew." Harry growls and Louis nods his head, running off to tell the others.

"I'll be back, I'm going to go talk to the helmsman." Harry says, kissing my cheek before leaving me, walking up the deck to talk to the man.

My heart started to pound in my chest and I felt all the color drain from my face. He wouldn't dare send ships out to get me, would he? That's just...no. No that's not it. He wouldn't send them out unless...

"Oh no." I whisper, covering my mouth with my hands as my mind races, the possibilities coming up in my head not looking good for the ship.

"He's planned an attack. He's really going as far as to risk the lives of others just to get me. That's...that's cruel." I whisper, running to the back of the ship and looking out at the sea, my eyes widening with fear as I saw the three ships, gaining on us pretty fast.

Father, you're just too much. This is going too far. I grit my teeth together, anger coming over me as well as fear. I knew that my father wasn't on those ships, he wasn't going to risk his life like that. No, he's risking the lives of his men and people he hired to do his dirty work.

"I've got to warn Harry." I mutter, turning around and running across the ship, climbing the stairs two at a time to get to Harry as quickly as I could. "Harry!" I call, looking around but my eyes widen in confusion as he is no where to be found.

The helmsman just gives me a smirk, pointing below us. "He went inside his quarters, Miss." he says and I nod my head to him. "Thank you." I say before running back down the stairs, going to the door and opening it.

"Harry!" I call, seeing him by his desk, turning to me with a questioning stare. "What is it?" he asks and the look on my face makes his eyebrows furrow down in concern.

"What's wrong?" he asks and I shake my head. "Harry, my father sent those ships. He's trying to get me back." I say and Harry's eyes widen, cursing under his breath. "He's still a bastard, even after all these years." Harry growls before giving me a stern look.

"We'll definitely have to sink those ships now. Or else we'll all be drowned." he says and lets out a sigh. "This isn't going to be pretty." He says with a shake of his head and I just look down.

"I'm sorry Harry, it seems like most of what's happened to us is my fault." I say and he walks up to me, putting both hands on my shoulders, making me look up at him.

"Don't say that, Bella. It's not your fault. Your father is just...well, he's just being himself." He says and I frown at him. He gives me a gentle smile before saying something I will never forget.

"A child can't choose who their parents are, Bella. We just have to accept and and learn to deal with it, knowing that it's not our fault for their actions." He says and I smile up at him.

"Thank you, Harry." I say and he hugs me to him, his arms wrapping around me tightly. "Just remember that Bella. What he does is not your fault. If anything, you're the victim here." He says and I force a laugh.

"Captain!!"

The panicked voice brought us out of our embrace and Harry hurried over to the door, me following right behind him.

He opens the door to see a panicked Niall, his face pale. "What is it?" Harry asks and Niall just gulps, pointing behind him.

"The ships that were following us are about to fire their cannons." He says and both our eyes widen. "What?? At that range? What are they trying to do?" Harry asks angrily before storming out onto the deck, Niall and I hot on his heels.

"Prepare to fire back! Helmsman, turn us sideways so that we can give these damn government people a proper welcome." Harry orders and crew members run around, preparing for yet another attack.

"They're still far away, yet they try an attack so soon. What the hell are they trying to accomplish?" Harry grumbles and I find myself frowning.

He turns to me and gives me another stern look. "We're going to fight as well. But this time, I'm not letting you out of my sight." Harry says and I nod my head, watching as he takes my hand and leads me to the upper deck.

We watch as one of the ships turns sideways, the other two continuing to grow closer. Our ship was now sideways, ready to attack as well. "Fire at will!" Harry orders and I brace myself.

The sound of the cannon going off rang in my ears and I prepared for battle, mentally and physically.

What I didn't know is that this battle was fought in vain.

Bad cliffhanger, I know. Sorry for not updating, I had my wisdom teeth out (awful) and couldn't do anything for some days. But I'm back! Haha, I really hope you like this chapter! Please continue to Comment and Vote, I love hearing from you!
