Darry really hates the United states because the treatment of the poor (due to Vietnam and the draft) he self taught himself french and plans to leave and move to Canada once pony goes to college. He plans to take Johnny with him so Johnny can relax more and try a life without abuse
Dally is really artistic and musical but he gave up both. Mostly because everthing he loved or created was broken or destroyed by his dad.
