It's easy to say one person didn't give it their all, it's almost like you're writing a song about how much they didn't appreciate you or care as much inside your head. But you can't guess what they feel in their hearts, and their internal struggles, and the pain, and the thoughts about the future they had formed, and the littlest things they would do to show you they are still on your side, they are on your team.
It's easy to say they don't give a damn about you just because they don't express it publicly. To forget late night attempts at wanting to reach out to those you love but you are terrified that they will say something you can't handle. You may grow distant, but your heart is so fond of this person, you could never forget them until they are gone... until it's easy for them to wrap it up and say It's done without saying anything at all.
It's easy to let go, but it's painful to remember the reasons why.
