That night, though I was laying in an extremely comfortable bed with silk sheets and soft fuzzy blankets, I couldn't sleep. I hadn't yet read the journals. I planned to, but I was so tired.

Even with the salt running through me and my sarcasm meter at an all-time high considering how tired I was, the journals kept bothering me. I had to. I just had to! It was driving me insane not know what Ben meant!

I turned on the bedside lamp and stupidly grabbed the first one on the pile. I opened it up to a random page, which just happened to be the begging of Death. "Oh sweet Jesus riding in a side car, what is it gonna tell me?"

"Death, brother of Satan. One of three deal makers."

Three?

"He is very persuasive but dangerous and I've noticed he has a strange thing for people who made deals with his brother. He doesn't seem to take an interest in people who've made deals with his sister.

His appearance is far from what people would expect. By that I mean he wears hoodies and t-shirts with death-based puns and black jeans. He has white hair and dark, looming eyes."

Why.

Just fucking why.

"Of course that's just his human form. His natural form is much more expected. Skull face, carries dark Scythe, big black robes and appears to be floating."

By this point I stopped reading because I found a lose page reading "To Nikki."

I opened the folded page and began reading. "Dear Nikki,

HI!!! Did you MIIIISSSSS MEEEEEE??? No? Too bad! I'm back bitch! Mwahahaha!"

Kill me.

"Anyway, heard you couldn't make any deals with my brooo... and your sis was kidnapped??? Aw, how tragic! Fortunately... Keep reading Ben's journal."

I looked back at the journal and kept reading.

"Death, unlike Satan does not have a limit to how many deals he can make and will never take your soul. He said it doesn't matter if you get to the limit of deals with his brother, he can still offer you deals."

My eyes widened and for a few seconds. I felt hopeful! Until I remembered that this was Death we were talking about and that his rule of thumb is "If you can't fuck it, kill it." And he was doing neither of those things to me.

Despite my deep desire to want to punch his stupid face every time I saw him, this was my only chance to get my sister back. I was willing to take it.

I went back to the note.

"Done reading yet? Great! Now, if you really, really, RREEEAAAALLLLYY want your lil'sis back, you'll be at Y'oll Diablo Tavern in the middle of town tomorrow at noon exactly. Don't be late!

~Death (call me Morty!)"

What the hell was I getting myself into?
