Chapter 1- The Lightwoods/Banes

Amethyst's POV

"Amethyst Lillian Bane Lightwood! Come out this instant!" Papa calls and I laugh. I'm only 5 years old and am already skilled at such things like hiding and fighting. Probably cause I'm part shadow hunter. Suddenly I hear a door open and foots steps walk in. "I'M HOME!" Daddy calls from the living room. I hear Papa sigh and walk off in that direction and soon I rush downstairs and straight onto daddy's chest.

"Hey sweetheart. I missed you" He tells me while giving me a hug. I hug him back and pull back as Papa reaches for me. "Amethyst, it's time for your shower stop hiding from me" He says and I sniffle. He takes me away from Daddy and puts me down.

"Alec, how was the institute today? Anything interesting?" Papa asks hugging Daddy and kissing him on the lips. "It was a good day. Ran into some warlocks fighting but we got them to settle down and such. What happened here? Looks like a tornado hit this place" Daddy says and looks straight at me,

"Hey don't blame me. This time it was Phoenix" I say and Daddy sighs. "That's not an excuse. And you little girl what did we say about giving papa a hard time? We love you sweetie but if this continues we are going to have to punish you" He tells me and I look down sadly, I turn to Papa and show my warlock mark. "I'm sorry papa" I say sadly and he sighs, picking me up he says "It's okay baby. Come now. Time for your bath then dinner and to bed" Papa tells me.

I rest my head on his shoulder as he takes me to the bathroom and gives me a bath. He makes the toys move with his powers and washes my body and hair with his hands. Afterwards he brings me to the living room where my brother and Daddy are waiting. He hands me to daddy but Phoenix pushes me off and Climbs onto him. I tear up and turn to papa who was already reaching for me. He hands me my bottle which is my dinner and lays me down on his chest. I lay there content with my bottle while daddy reads outloud to Phoenix and Papa rocks me softly. I finish and hand papa my bottle. He puts it on the table and carries me off to my room for bedtime. Daddy follows with Phoenix and they put us in our beds. They kiss us goodnight and leave shutting the door behind them. I slowly fall asleep and dream of magic and hunting and fighting.

~The next morning

"WAAAAAAHHHHHH" Screams Phoenix, I look over at him and see he's barfed up his dinner. "Shush Phoenix. I'm sleeping" I say as Papa and Daddy come in. "Oh Phoenix please don't cry like that. Its okay. We're here now. Shhh" Papa says and slowly my brother calms down and Papa is able to clean and change him. I whine and try going back to sleep but I can't. I sit up and sniffle, Daddy looks over at me worried but he knows I'm only tired so he scoops me up and says  "Magnus I'm taking her to the balcony. Maybe she will calm down and fall back asleep" He telks papa and he nods rocking and soothing my brother. As we leave I watch Daddy's face. He seems really tired like me. "Daddy are you tired?" I ask and he nods "Just a little bit sweetheart. But don't worry I'll be able to sleep today because I'm not going to work. Papa and I are going to stay home with you and Phoenix today- Look Amee. The sun hasn't risen yet. Its pretty right?" He asks as we step unto the balcony. He sits on the magic lounge chair and lays me on his chest. "Yes daddy, its really pretty. I'm glad you're staying with us today, that way papa isn't sad anymore" I say falling asleep again as he puts a blanket on me.

"What? Amee papas sad? Why?" Daddy asks and I shrug, "He said he misses you a lot. Your always at work. We always wish you were home with us. Not as much as papa though. He get's really sad cause your not around. But he knows why. Daddy I love you..." I say and fall back asleep.

I wake up a few hours later to shouting and crying. "Magnus! Why won't you tell me? Instead I had to hear it from our 5 year old daughter?! Please tell me the truth" Daddy says and Papa sighs, he starts talking and I get  sleepy again so I drift off into sleep.

~Lunch time~
"Phoenix please don't do that! Amethysts do not spill your milk or food please. Uh here You go love some nice chicken and potato's just the way you like it oh with some lovely sangria" Papa says and I laugh as I throw food at his hair which he is avoiding with his magic. After a minute of full screaming comes a knock and Daddy goes to answer it.

And who he comes back with makes me queal with delight.
