Chapter 21- Bonding

Rafael's POV

"Come on Please!!" I beg Luna again. Dad and Papa invited us over for dinner and she's gotten self conscious about it and is refusing to go.

"No Rafael..." She starts but stops and doesn't bother to look at me. I stare at her and then pull her close to me.

"What are you so afraid of babe? That they won't like you? Or that they won't accept you? Maybe you think that you'll embarrass yourself, is that it?" I ask and slowly she nods and I feel tears hit my shirt.

I pull back a bit and look at her face. She looks up at me and her cheeks turn pink. I smile and kiss her head.

"Moonlight you don't have to worry about that. They love you already and I promise they have already accepted you. And trust me you won't embarrass your self, because I'll be there with you to make sure of that.

I promise it'll be fine. Trust me Moonlight you'll be okay?" I ask and slowly she nods and I wipe the tears from her face.

I pull her down to sit with me on our bed and she smiles slightly. I slowly wrap my arms around her. She wraps her arms around me and we lay there silently.

After a few minutes someone knocks on our door. I groan silently and slowly get up. Luna breaths slowly and I realize she's fallen asleep.

I hear someone once again knock and quickly open the door. I find Aunt Isabelle on the other side with my cousin Elizabeth on her hip.

"Hi Rafael. I'm sorry if I woke you guys. I was just wondering if you guys are going to your parent's tonight for dinner. They invited us, Clary, Jace, and Angel as well, did you convince Luna to go?" She asks and I laugh.

"Hi aunt Isabelle, and no it's fine Luna just fell asleep and yeah we are going, I finally convinced her to go. It'll be good for her to get out of the institute, she's always inside doing something.

Anyways is it okay if we come with you? She might feel better if she saw a familiar face or five including me. If not it's fine I can always-" I say but she cuts me off with a laugh.

"Of course you can come with us. We are leaving at 6 to spend some extra time together before dinner. Meet us outside at 5:55. See you later my love, say bye to your cousin, Lizzy" She says and Elizabeth waves goodbye I smile and wave goodbye as they start to walk away.

I close the door and look at Luna. She's fast asleep, I guess being pregnant makes you sleep more. I look at my phone and see that there's only two hours until we have to leave. I debate on waking Luna up to get ready but instead I decide to get ready first.

While in the shower I remember when I was little like Amethyst and Phoenix. Dad and Papa had brought them home and Max Madzie and I were so excited.

*Flash Back*

(Rafael's POV)

I pull on the string Madzie and I are playing with and she let's go. It rebounds to me but I drop it before it hits me. Madzie Max and I laugh. We continue laughing as if it was the best thing ever.

I sit down next to Max as he reads a book and look around at Madzie who is now playing with Papas old make up and then at the door.

Uncle Jace and Uncle Simon, Aunt Isabelle and Aunt Clary walk into the room with smiles.

I smile up at uncle Jace who smiles down at me and sits down in between Max and I. Aunt Izzy kneels infront of me and says,

"You're going to be the best big brother ever Rafael. Daddy and Papa will be home any minute okay? Thank you for being so good, your such a good boy Rafael" She smiles and kisses my cheek. I smile as Madzie walks over and pats my hand. But she suddenly stops and listens closely.
Max and I do to. It's not a bad guy though. We recognize the foot steps walking towards us. They stop at the door and open it. We look at the door and see Daddy and Papa, with two babies in their arms. We smile and wave.
