We all sat in the living room at Joe's once again celebrating our win as we watched the news. I watched as Barry looked at us from the doorway before walking outside. I got up and followed, hobbling my way out the door to find him sitting on the steps again. I sat across from him as he stared at me sitting down.
"Can't stop thinking about my dad's doppelganger. Seeing him, knowing that he's out there, that should have made it easier. It doesn't," Barry sighed, "It just made me miss him more."
"I can't even imagine how hard that must have been," I answered.
"We just won. We beat Zoom. Why does it feel like I lost?" He asked.
"Because you've lost a lot in your life, Barry, more than most," I told him, "But I'm here for you and I always will be like you're always there for me. We're partners for life now."
"I just feel so hollowed out inside right now," he said as tears filled his eyes, "I feel more broken than I've ever felt in my life. I just want to find some...some peace."
"Barry, I love you so much, more than you might ever know. So if you need time to figure this all out, I can wait. Go wherever you need to go, whatever you need to do and when you come home know that I will be there. I will always be there," I reached forwards putting a hand on his knee.
"Okay," he nodded.
"I love you, Barry," I smiled.
Barry leaned forward kissing me softly before pulling away.
"I love you too and I always will."
