Chapter 13 - please don't leave

------

I sighed in frustration. "What do I have to do to make you surrender? Take out one of your eyeballs? Cut off both of your arms and legs? Stab you with your own arrows?"

I know this is just big talk, and that I don't really mean any of it, but damn! Even I'm getting the shivers with the way I sound right now.

His eyes glistened with fear for a split-second. I stared back at him with my stone-cold eyes, not allowing even a glimpse of an emotion to be noticed. He didn't move a budge. My eyes narrowed in annoyance.

"I'm not giving up."

I growled in irritation. I disappeared in front of him and reappeared behind him. I pinned him onto the ground, his back facing me. I had his arms behind him with one hand as I held the pocketknife over his heart with the other.

"If you don't surrender, I will stab an inch away from your heart," I said.

He wriggled under me, so I kneed him on the back. He let out a hiss as I pressed a knee against one of his wounds.

"So, what's it going to be? Are you going to surrender or not?"

He looked at me in the corner of my eye. "I'm not going to surrender."

My eyes widened of a fraction. I stared back at him, who had a smirk on his face. My eyebrow scrunched as I contemplated on stabbing him or not. Seeing as there's no other way to show him I'm dead serious, I stabbed him on the back, an inch away from his heart. Ah, crap! This is not going the way I expected it to be.

He let out a surprised gasp, along with the others that were watching our battle.

"Your time's running out. Surrender now, and you'll still be able to live," I said.

At this point, I sound like I'm pleading out to him. What's up with this guy?

"I surrender," he weakly said to me after a few seconds.

I quickly stood up as a few guards went to him and brought him to a clinic or something.

I took deep breaths as I tried to gather my composure.

What's wrong with me? Am I that cranky about what just happened to Gon? Did I just let out my anger to someone else, almost killing him in the process?

I fast-walked out of the arena and found myself in front of a fountain. I walked up to it and stared at my reflection on the water.

I look pretty messed-up, now that I can see what I look like. My hair was disheveled, my pale face covered with a couple of bruises. My lip was busted and my cheek had a bleeding wound.

I cupped my hands and placed it under the fountain. I splashed my face with some water before sitting on the dry surface of the fountain.

"Where did you get that tattoo?" a voice asked.

I looked up to see Hisoka. He was staring at my shoulder, which made me look at it. The tattoo was still visible, so I covered my hand with it. "I don't know how I got it. It was there ever since I remember."

He hummed in amusement. "I can tell you why. Would you like me to?" he mused.

This piqued my curiosity. "But, there's a catch, right. What is it?" I said, not trusting him one bit.

He shook his head, chuckling. "Meet me in Yorknew City in the first of September."

"Where exactly?" I asked as I stood up.
