Chapter 6 - weird tactics
-------
We were told to rest for we will be arriving at the next phase around tomorrow morning. There was dinner prepared and rooms provided, so we can feel at home.
"Let's explore the airship!" Killua said.
"Okay!" "Sure!"
Moments later, we were shoved out of the kitchen by an angry chef. "Go eat in the dining room!"
The two were eating a huge chunk of meat as I nibbled on a piece of bread. We walked on an empty corridor and ate our food in silence.
"Hey, look!" I said to them as I beckoned them towards the window.
"Wow!"
"It's like the ground is covered in jewels!"
It was a wonderful sight that made our jaws dropped. We stared at the glorious spectacle when Gon decided to speak up.
"Killua, where are you mom and dad?"
"Hmm...they're alive, probably."
"What do they do?"
"They're assassins."
"Huh? Both of them?" Gon asked.
My eyes glistened. "Oh! Do they get to have cool stuff and do super cool missions? Oh! Are they better than ninjas?!"
Killua laughed. "Those are your reactions? You guys really are a riot! I've never heard of those reactions before," he chuckled.
"I'm from a family of assassins, so they're all assassins. They have really high hopes for me but I can't stand it. Who wants to have their life planned out for them? When I told them that I don't like that kind of future, they all snapped!"
Killua then had this weird, but funny, expression on his face. "My mother cried. She said that I have the potential to be a top assassin. Horrible parents, right?"
We laughed as he went on and on about his dysfunctional assassin family.
"When I become a Hunter, I'll start by capturing my family. I'm sure they're worth some hefty bounties," Killua said with a dreamy look on his face.
Gon and I just nervously laughed and sweat-dropped at him.
We all felt a dangerous and deadly aura aimed at us and we jumped off our seats.
"Is there something wrong?" the chairman asked as he walked towards us.
"Ah, Netero-san, did you see anyone coming from there?" The old man shook his head.
"You're fast for an old man," Killua said with a cold tone.
"That little trick? I barely moved."
Gon and I looked back and forth between the two as they looked at each other with stone cold stares.
"Am I missing something here?" I interrupted.
The two snapped out of their staring contest.
"So, kids, what are your thoughts on your first attempt on this exam?"
"It's fun! There haven't been any of the written exams I was dreading," Gon said.
"It's stressful since these two annoyed the heck out of me," I said as I gestured at the boys beside me.
"I'm disappointed. I expected the exam to be far more difficult," Killua said with an eye-roll.
"Ah, I see. Well, would you care to play a game with me? If you defeat me, I shall let you be Hunters!"
