I walked out the front door. Elliot sat there in the car waiting for me. I got inside the smell of her vanilla perfume filled my nose.
"You promised me you wouldn't do none of this shit anymore," She said tapping her fingers on the steering wheel.
"I only had one drink and then we just watched the game," I shrugged.
"I'm just worried about you," she said taking a deep breath.
"I'm sorry for making you worry," she glanced over at me then back at the road.
"I can take care of myself Elliot," she continued to stare ahead.
"I don't think you can if your out here doing stupid shit," she said with an attitude.
I ran my hand tiredly over my face the last thing I wanted to do was argue with her,"I'm just tired."
She sighed,"Whatever."
"How was your day? Baby," I asked her trying to change the topic of the conversation.
"You would know if you answered your damn phone" she snapped.
"Is that why your mad? Because I didn't answer my phone when you called," If so she was being really stupid right now.
"No, that's not why I'm mad," she gripped the steering wheel tighter,"I'm mad because I have to baby sit my grown ass boyfriend!"
I completely lost it,"You say that as if I didn't do the same for you for an entire year Elliot."
"That's differ-"
"No it's not your being such a hypocrite right now," I couldn't stop myself at this point. She sat there silent for a moment the tension in the car was evident.
We pulled into the parking lot outside of my building,"Take your shit and get the fuck out of my car." She threw the car in park unlocking the car doors.
I sat there for a moment staring at the side of her face,"Elliot I'm sorry I didn't mean what I sa-"
She held up her hand silencing me,"Just leave." I reached for the door slowly getting out of the car. As soon as I closed the car door she sped out of the parking lot.
I felt horrible for saying that to Elliot knowing it wasn't her fault. I searched for my house keys in my pockets. They were no where to be found. I walked upstairs grabbing the spare key from underneath the mat unlocking the front door.
I turned on the kitchen light opening up the fridge. The only thing in the fridge was a gallon of milk and two cans of beer. Neither of us were really here so there was no reason for us to buy any groceries.
I poured myself a glass of milk trying to find something to take for my oncoming headache. I sat there strolling through my phone looking at all the texts Elliot sent me. She'd texted me all day about a fashion show she was helping out with. I tried to call Elliot late in the night after I got out the shower. She didn't answer none of my calls or texts.
