Parker

I went out for shakes with a few friends from my classes. Elliot kept texting me while she waited for her flight to take off.

"Parker you've been kind of quiet over there what's wrong?" Jade asked. She had brown hair, thick black rimmed glasses and a smile full of metal. Overall she was a pretty great person with a good sense of humor. "My girlfriend she's nervous about flying for the first time," I told them.

They all started talking about something else leaving me be. I shouldn't have come, but it beats sitting in the house all day. Keith was out with his girlfriend for the weekend leaving me alone. I got the invite from Micheal when he said they were all going out for milk shakes. "Parker, did you do any research for that paper," Micheal asked me. He sat right next to me in our chemistry course we had a few beers once before.

"I haven't actually," I've been so caught up in spending quality time with Elliot I hadn't made time. I knew what exactly to write about so there was no need. "He probably doesn't even need to do any research Mr. Smarty pants", Jade said laughing. I smiled as everyone else laughed it's true I had to admit.

I guess being a nerd and having no social life in high school has it perks. "I'm not that smart you guys are pretty smart yourselves," It was true we were all somewhere in the top of our classes. "You guys all remind me of the characters from that 70's show", Micheal said.

"I loved that show", Jade said "with Ashton Kutcher boy was he quite the looker," she giggled. I took a sip of my shake texting Elliot back. She knew she wasn't supposed to be on her phone when the plane was in the air. I shook my head scolding her in a text message.

She sent me something I wouldn't dare let another pair of eyes read. I visibly blushed at her explicit words,"Parker your as red a tomato?" Jade said smiling. I turned off my phone putting it in my pocket,"My girlfriend we have a inside joke" I laughed nervously.

She nodded,"You talk about her a lot tells us about her?" She rested her chin on her hands waiting for me to talk. I noticed the entire table had gotten quiet. "Well" I started "We've been dating for quite some time almost a year" I said smiling.

"That's so romantic," Jade said nudging Micheal "Isn't it."

"Yeah," he said.

"Her name is Elliot and we came here together and I plan on leaving here with her and spending forever together," It wasn't often that I openly talked about my feelings for Elliot to anyone.

"She's truly amazing in every way and the complete opposite of me" I chuckled "Maybe that's why I love her so much." Micheal slapped me on the back,"Your gonna make Jade cry over here."

I looked up to see Jade dabbing her eyes with a tissue,"That's so beautiful the way you feel about her. Girls don't find to many like you she's a lucky girl Parker." I smiled,"Thank you Jade." I was relieved when the spot light wasn't on me and back on Micheal. We all listened to him tell stories about his wacky childhood.

When I first met him he told me that his family was in the circus. I didn't take him seriously until I saw pictures of his family dressed up as circus people do. It was truly shocking to see he seemed like a normal guy not that circus people aren't normal. It was just odd he said he scooped elephant shit for a year for getting caught with the ring leaders daughter. I laughed my ass off when he told me. He made me promise to never tell another soul.
