"So baby sister, how have you been?" Laura asked me at the dinner table.

She always called me baby sis, even though we're only a year apart. When we were younger, she only called me that to piss me off but after a while, it stopped bothering me and it just became our thing. She no longer said it in the same spiteful tone that she used to. Now, she said it with a cheerful and loving tone that made me feel all warm inside because even though I don't have the same kind of bond that she has with Laura, she always made me feel like we shared something other than just DNA. Which is more than I can say for Nora. Nora has always managed to make me feel like I was in the way... and though I love her with all my heart, I can't help but feel that our relationship is unrequited.

"I'm fine," I smiled at her and then continued to eat my food. "I can't complain too much."

I could, but I won't. I thought.

"How's your senior year going?" She asked. "Everything you hoped it would be?"

"Must be going pretty good," Nora said as she eyed Jayden from across the table.

Jayden sat next to me and I could see from the corner of my eye that he was trying his best to avoid eye contact, not with just Nora but with everyone, except me of course.

I tried my hardest not to roll my eyes at Nora's word., "It's going okay. Some unexpected things have happened," I could feel Jayden's eyes on mine and I met his gaze with a small smirk. He returned it with one of his own and I felt my chest warm. "But, I've adjusted."

Jayden smiled down at his plate now and wiped his plumped bottom lips with his thumb. Something in my stomach fluttered at that simple moment, so I forced myself to look away from him.

"Hmm," Laura eyed me and Jayden with a seemingly knowing smile. "You don't say."

Laura is probably the nicest person anyone will ever meet. She's such a sweetheart. It's Nora you have to worry about... She is the literal opposite of her twin.

"Enjoy it now baby, because before you know it, your old with five kids, and your tits are touching the floor," Grandma told me as she rudded my hand.

Everyone erupted with laughter and all I could do is shake my head at her and smile.

I gave gram a tight-lipped smile and said, "Thanks for that visual Gram."

My Grandma wasn't like most grandmothers. She looked young and she behaved that way too. My Grandma was in her fifties and she looked as young as my Mom who just turned forty. I was glad to see the women in my family age well.

"So Jayden, how have you been?" Nora asked him.

Jay swallowed his food and hesitantly looked up at everyone who was staring at him, awaiting his answer.

"I've been okay. Thanks for asking," He nodded.

"Ya know, I didn't recognize you earlier. You look so... grown up," Nora smirked at him flirtatiously as her eyes raked over him. "Who knew that you would grow up to look so... cute?"

I rolled my eyes and sipped my water. The tightness in my chest was growing every time she opened her mouth.

"You did grow up to be quite handsome Jayden," Mom agreed.

"Mhm!" Gram chimed in. "You are quite handsome. You look like one of those models that are usually in my wet dreams."

I faced palmed my forehead as soon as the words left my grandma's mouth. "Gram!" I groaned while everyone else laughed, including Jayden.
