6. Date?

Chapter 6

I had to find Seri as early as possible. I just had to talk to her about Zara and Olly.

I could not believe or understand what all I had just heard.

After about 15 more minutes of frantic efforts I finally managed to pull out Seri alone in a corridor. She was blushing profusely. God knows why though. But, she looked so cute, all baffled and red!

I always found her seriously cute, sweet and pretty but never had the guts to go and ask her on a date, especially with the amount of guys who were after her.

I couldn't even imagine why would she date me.

I was so lost in my trail of thoughts that I didn't even notice her blushing like crazy and staring at where I was still holding her by her arm.

"Hey Seri.." I said sheepishly. I felt myself turning a shade of red.

"Umm..hey...uhh..why did you pull me out here?"

"Can you come with me to the café down the road?"

"Really?! Sorry I meant why? And..uh...when?" She looked flustered to say the least.

"Right now...and it's something about Olly and Zara. I overheard something today that you ought to know about...but we can't discuss it here and if we meet up later then the rest might suspect something fishy...so we can just sneak out if it's fine with you?" I could practically feel my beating out of my chest. It was beating that hard.

A look of disappointment crossed her pretty face it seemed. But she collected her stature and said "Actually even I had to tell you something. A plan I had in mind for those two...and see I got to go through my scene with Zara once...as soon as she and Mrs. Finley get distracted with something else after my scene I'll text you..meet you in the car park then?" She smiled.

"Great! As it is I am free 'coz my scenes aren't being practiced and Olly has gone to audition for Romeo's role so he won't know..."

"He has? That's awesome then!"

"Huh?"

"Nevermind...I'll explain everything.."

"Umm...ok...and listen...if you don't mind...can I call this a coffee date?"

"I would like that...totally..."

"See you then.."

"See ya.."

I asked her on a date..okay not technically but yeah I did in a way and she agreed! Yesssss!! I thought as I did a li'l dance in celebration.

We were sitting in the café after having sneaked out from the rehearsals. Seri had ordered a Cappuccino, the same as me.

I narrated to her how I overheard Olly and Zara talking backstage. It was deserted at that time. I had left my earphones there so had gone to fetch them.

I had stumbled upon them and Sara seemed to be blowing it off on him. I was behind them so they didn't know about my presence.

I told Seri how I heard Zara call Olly several things like an insensitive guy who only cares about himself, a thoughtless person, a heartbreaker, d*ckhead etc. And how instead of protesting, Olly kept quiet and mumbled a sorry.

I was extremely confused 'coz I had no clue what they were talking about as Olly, as per what I knew, had been in only one relation before and it was the girl who cheated on him..he was heartbroken; not a heartbreaker.

Serena was as stunned as I was. And then she narrated her plan to me.

She stated that it was a universal fact that no one compliments Zara better than Oliver when it comes to being seen as a couple.  

Moreover, being Zara's best friend for the past few years, thanks to her 'Romeo & Juliet obssession', Oliver knew all the lines that Romeo said to Juliet in the play.  

So all we had to do was to make sure that Mr. Gay realized that how amazing will Olly and Zara looked together because then those two wouldn't be able to ignore each other for long and would have to talk it out eventually.

Luckily we had made a video of them practicing the 'Balcony scene' on Zara's birthday as per her birthday wish to perform the scene with someone. Olly being the only one who was crazy enough to learn the dialogues for her, had become Romeo.

Now all we had to do was to show the video to Mr. Gray and then our plan could start..
