Chapter 4

Serena's POV

Zara never called back and it's impossible that she went to sleep at 10:30 pm...'coz she is nocturnal!

I told Mom that I am going to the rehearsal!

The first rehearsal!

I should have been excited, but I was way too worried about Zara. I shouted a bye to Mom as I closed the main door behind me and started walking towards our school.Thoughts of concern for Zara & Olly clouded my mind.

Zara's POV {Her picture on the side! :) }

'Romeo & Juliet'...playing Juliet is a dream come true for any girl, including me. A dream that I had cherished ever since Nana told me the story when I was 3, but today at 16 I feel that I would rather be the nurse than be the tragic heroine 'coz even though it's an epic tale of love, at the end, it is a tragedy. And that is the reality of the story.

We stopped at a traffic light and waited for the light to turn green. My Mom was driving me down to my school for our first rehearsal and instead of being excited, I was overthinking again. My Mom was busy talking on the phone to her PA, Andrea. My Mom is a Senior HR consultant so she is super busy usually, but still she manages to take out time for me and makes the most delicious food for us every night.

But even her warmth, as she gave me an apologetic smile while talking, couldn't pull me out of the dark whirlpool of my thoughts.

At a point, I realized that nothing in our world is what it seems. Not even friendship, trust, honesty or even love.

Romeo claimed to love Juliet. We all know that, but how true was that? Initially, he goes to the ball to see his lady love Rosaline, but by the end of the ball, he is love struck by Juliet.

Thus, I had my doubts about Romeo's loyalty. Even if his ways of wooing Juliet were much better than those he used for Rosaline, the simple reason for this might have been because now he knew how to woo her better as opposed to earlier rather than him having found 'true love'.

In short he had gained 'experience'.

The lamest thing was that they even got married so soon! And Juliet was so blinded by sheer love that she didn't care that her husband had killed her cousin!

But, I guess that is what love does to people. It blinds them, dulls their senses and their logic goes out of the window! No wonder people those who fall in love go mad! I can't believe that I actually used to believe all this and wished to find 'love' someday. I am glad I realized all this before it was too late.

'Honey, we have reached! Should I pick you up or you will come home on your own?' Mom's voice startled me.

'Nah Mom, I'll be going over to Seri's for lunch...will get home by dinner if it's fine with you?'

'Yeah..it's good...you have been pretty much lost lately..being with her should change your mood! Take care Sweetie! And do your best my Juliet!'  She waved me off with her concerned smile. My Mom knows that I like to deal with everything on my own and that I tell her all of it...eventually.

'Sure Mom...take care! Bye!' I waved back with a grin. This seemed to ease off some of Mom's concern as she waved me back with a grin that matched mine. I waited till her car turned the corner and vanished.

The school's parking lot had many people trickling into the building. The play must have a huge cast I thought.

I turned towards the school's entrance and a smile crept up my lips.

My excitement was finally building up.

Rehearsal finally! My Romeo Jared here I come! At last, I had something to look forward to.
