Chapter 18

Zara's POV

I got ready in a rush. Took a shower in less than a minute, threw on the first pair of jeans that I saw after putting on my favourite green t-shirt that read 'I'm not a Drama Queen, but even my life's got drama in it!'. I barely brushed my hair.

I flew down the stairs and into the kitchen. Hugged my Mom & Dad and ran towards the door after telling them that I'll be having breakfast with Seri at the café nearby.

The café was called 'Votre tasse de café'. Literally the name meant 'Your cup of coffee', in French. Olly had told me the meaning when we all had visited it for the first time. His grandmother was French so both his mother and Olly knew how to speak in French.

I ran down the street till I was finally at the café's doorstep. I was panting, so I stopped & took a deep breath before entering the café.

It wasn't huge or highly commercial yet it never went without any customers.

It's street-facing wall was made fully of glass, giving you a full view of what's happening inside, as well as outside the café. There were potted plants that hung from above the doorway, just high enough for you to not bang into them, yet low enough to be noticed. The board above the suspended plants was a very light shade of green with random pretty patterns in a darker shade of green with the name spelt out in huge bold letters in Edwardian font.

It was very much like the cafés one would find in Paris, with a few tables laid out in the open on the terrace garden above and its friendly staff always willing to help.

It held an old world charm with it's strict coffee-only menu. The walls made of dark red bricks had framed posters of some random old time english movies like Casablanca, Sound of Music, Breakfast at Tiffany's, etc.

Yet, with it's old world feel, the café provided its customers with free Wi-fi and a little corner of the café had three desktops which one could use to access the internet.

As I entered, I saw a very excited Seri frantically waving at me to join her at a table beside the glass wall, overlooking the street. As I approached her, I noticed that she had occupied a table meant for four people. I motioned for her to, instead, scoot over to the table beside me which was meant for two.

She shook her head and mouthed that we'll have company. I gave a very confused look as I approached her.

She wore a blue tank top and her special occasion silk scarf teamed with a pair of stone-washed grey jeans.

She was wearing her special occasion scarf. That made me wonder what was so special about that day!

In the morning she had called me to meet her at the café for breakfast before our rehearsal in the next twenty minutes. I had to rush to reach the café on time.
