8. A New Romeo?

Chapter 8

Zara's POV

Mr. Gay had told me that he had finally chosen the perfect Romeo for me. The one who would not only look amazing with me, but also have 'chemistry' with me. I wondered who that was because the only one who looked perfect with me had always been Oliver. It was an accepted fact among us. But how bogus it sounded now.

Thus, here was I, standing beside Mr. Gay, while he gave us some lecture on how on-stage chemistry is super important.

Oh God! Why couldn't he just announce who was Romeo!

Urgh! He probably planned to kill me with anticipation!

"...it's that important to have on-stage or on-screen chemistry. Simply because if you lack it, you don't get the message of being in love with each other, across to your audience..and that is exactly why after some serious delibration, I have decided to cast our Romeo to be Oliver. Come here my boy!"

Mr. Gay finally called out.

After seeing who Romeo was, my mind started reeling.

What the hell! How could Mr. Gay cast him as Romeo! This wasn't supposed to be happening! Not at all! Playing Juliet was supposed to be my ticket for staying away from him and being happy! Not vice-versa!

I will quit the play! Yeah that's what I will do! But then he will think I have become weaker, can't let that happen. Why should I step down! No! Instead I will give it my best shot but ignore him throughout. Except when we are supposed to rehearse together.

I had dealt with ignoring him for quite long by then, so I decided to continue it further and not let it hamper my dream of playing Juliet.

And so I did.

Serena's POV

Mr. Gay had told Josh and me that he would think about casting Oliver as Romeo and announce his decision in front of the whole cast later on. We had swore him to secrecy that he won't tell anyone that Josh & I had gone to him and tried convincing him to cast Olly as Romeo.

I just had to find Josh to congratulate him..afterall we were partners in crime!

And we could go on another 'date' to celebrate!

It even rhymes!

Ok..I was going hyper again, I guess! But whatever...our plan had worked so far and all we have to do was to make sure that Romeo and Juliet got ample of time to practice with each other.

all of us were used to Olly and Zara being BFFz and want them back to normal again, including their parents (both their mothers sounded pretty worried about this fight of theirs, when me and Josh enquired if they knew what was wrong with those two). Now that they were totally ignoring each other it seemed like the Montagues and Capulets were at peace but it was Romeo VS Juliet and it's upto josh and me to turn it back into Romeo AND Juliet.

All this sounds clichéd I know, but there was a reason why I named this story Romeo vs Juliet..it has to be dramatic and obvious right? :P

But don't worry, the end isn't that obvious and neither is the storyline that I have in mind Chapter 12/13 onwards ;)
