***Surpise update! Yay! Couldn't wait to share it! I hope you guys enjoy!
A piece of paper was trapped under a hand that was slammed onto my desk which makes me flinch and look up at Mrs. Parks who angrily looks down at me. "Good job, Jaeger. Sort of." She growled and moved on to the student behind me. I slowly lifted the piece of paper to flip it over. My eyes widened when I saw a big, red B- scribbled across the front. I internally celebrated, wiggling a little in my seat.
'Thank you, Levi!' I thought and smiled, noting to get him something to thank him. But what? Levi doesn't seem like the type to like something like Starbucks. So, what should I get him? Maybe just a thank you is enough, but I can't help feeling like that would fall short, I mean, a B-? That's the best score I've ever gotten on a French test! Definitely gonna have to get him something.... But what?
The bell ringing is what snapped me out of my thoughts, which meant it was now lunch time and I am so ready! The food I ate for breakfast escaped my body like me escaping my responsibilities and I had been left with an empty stomach throughout second and third period.
I quickly walked into the cafeteria and sat in my usual spot with Sasha, Armin, Jean, Marco, Mikasa and Connie. They all directed their attention to my grinning face as I pulled my lunch out of my backpack.
"What's got you all smiley?" Jean asked in a mocking tone and I sassily turned my head to look at him.
"I'll have you know, horseface, that I, Eren Jaeger, got a B- on my French test. The best score I've ever gotten on any French test, ever." I retorted, taking a bite out of my sandwich with a triumphant look plastered on my face.
"Oh yeah, the test that Levi helped you study for?" He asked. Now realizing he had the upper hand, he raised an eyebrow and rested his elbow on the table with a grin. I shrunk back a little but still confidently answered.
"Yeah, so?" Jean laughed.
"Oh my god, Jaeger, I swear!" I just sat there, confused.
Eventually, the conversation died down and my eyes started wandering around the lunch room. There were all different conversations happening everywhere, some people laughing, some people looking to be in an in-depth conversation and some people just sat and ate with their friends, not bothering to talk. My eyes finally landed on a specific group that Levi usually hung out with but the raven was currently absent from the group. I knew he had second lunch today, as he had told me in a previous conversation. It was Thursday so lunches are based off of fifth period and Levi has said period upstairs.
An idea suddenly popped up into my head and I turned to tell my group of friends that I will be right back, to which they nodded. I stood, walking in the direction of Hanji, Erwin, and Oluo. When I reached their table I sat myself down in the empty seat next to Erwin where Levi usually sits and they all looked in my direction.
"Hey, guys I have a question." They all looked puzzled, like some stranger had just sat down. Then I realized I am a stranger and chuckled. "Oh, sorry, I forgot to say: my name's Eren!" I said gleefully and they all seemed to grow smirks on their faces, looking at each other. Hanji, especially, who had a big, enthusiastic grin on her face.
Hanji was the first to speak up, "so this is the Eren we've been hearing so much about!" She raised her eyebrows and I decided to wave it off, prioritizing the question that was sure to leave my brain if I didn't ask it soon.
"Yeah, um, so anyways, I have a question," they all nodded and turned their whole bodies to me. "What types of things does Levi like?" I asked, kind of embarrassed and Hanji gasped, turning to Oluo and Erwin.
