Hana's pov:

"Ayumi! What were you thinking running after that robber?! You could've gotten killed! You're father would've been devastated!", I exclaimed worriedly to my niece.

"I'm sorry, oba-san.", she says.

"At least you're safe," I sigh, smiling gently as we enter Saburo's van. "Such a shame we had to run into that monster, ne~? Izaya's going to be angry."

"Who was he, oba-san? Why was he looking for tou-chan*?", my niece, Izaya's daughter, Ayumi, asked.

Ayumi Orihara. She was eight years old. She was the daughter of Izaya and Shizuo, thus Ayumi's inhuman strength like mine and Shizuo's. Her name coming from the meaning 'history'. Why? Well, because Izaya and Shizuo created Ayumi. Due to their ancient history, Izaya decided to name his daughter Ayumi.

She had Shizuo's natural brown hair –from what Izaya described him before Shizuo dyed his hair blonde– and Izaya's eyes. She had Shizuo's protectiveness over her family –thus she will get easily angry if anyone hurts or speaks badly of her family– and Izaya's need to know things.

Ayumi doesn't know that Shizuo was her other biological father. She just thinks her mother left her and Izaya, when in reality, Izaya is her mother and Shizuo the father.

"He's uh. .  .," I stutter, trying to find a correct term to tell Ayumi who Shizuo was without telling her he was her father.

"He's an old acquaintance of your father, Ayumi. Though he doesn't like him very much," Dota-chin says, smiling gently at the girl.

I smile thankfully at my dark brunette husband. Yes, we're married. I'm now called Hana Kadota. To anyone's confusion, Dota-chin's first name is Kyohei. His last name is Kadota, thus my last name being change. We got married two years after Ayumi was born. We didn't have kids though. It was tragic since. . . . .since I couldn't bear kids.

I was pregnant at first, but in a month, I got a miscarriage. The doctor told me that the miscarriage created a terrible effect to my womb and so I was now infertile. I was devastated and got depressed for months. But with Dota-chin's, Izaya's, Shinra's, and Celty's help, I was able to overcome it in a year. So now, Dota-chin and I were living a happy life together as a couple. Though now I live in Ikebukuro since I'm married to him. Izaya took over my apartment in Osaka to live with Ayumi. I wonder how I manage to stay hidden from Shizuo for so long though?

Then Ayumi asks again, "Why?"

"Well, Izaya and Shizuo just have some ancient history together," Walker says.

"Shizuo?", Ayumi asks, way too curious.

"Yeah! Shizuo Heiwajima! Don't make him angry though, Ayumi-chan! He'll hurt you once he's mad! You don't want Iza-Iza to get angry, don't you?", Erika coos.

Ayumi shakes her head and asks, "Oba-san, when will tou-chan come home from work?"

"I don't know, Ayumi. He's job has many different time ranges. But I assure you that your father will be back and ready to take you to that festival tonight!", I say.

"Yay!"

"A festival?! You didn't tell me about a festival today, Hana-chan!", Erika and Walker exclaim.

"Because only Izaya, Ayumi, Hana, and I were going," Dota-chin says.

"Eh?! You're so mean, Dota-chin!", Erika pouts.

"Don't call me that!", Dota-chin exclaims, glaring at the girl.

"Can we come, please, Hana!", Walker pleads.

"Yeah! We won't bother you and Dota-chin's time alone!", Erika says.

"Fine," I sigh defeated. "But could you keep Shizuo away from Ayumi and Izaya? The festival is being held here and Ikebukuro, and I'm afraid he'll attend."

"No problem, Mrs. Dota-chin!", they exclaim.

Ayumi's pov:

I felt something towards the blonde man I saw, Shizuo-san It felt like how I got close to tou-chan, but was more stronger. I was curious to know who he was to tou-chan because I know oba-san and oji-san* are hiding something from me. Come to think about it, I think tou-cha, Erika-san, Walker-san, and everyone else are hiding something from me.

I knew it had to do something with Shizuo-san, and Walker-san said that tou-chan and him have an 'ancient history' together. I didn't know what their history together was, but I really wanted to know. Maybe I'll ask tou-chan once we get back home!

*Tou-chan means father (or calling father cute because of '-chan')

*oji-san means uncle
