zuko x reader

(Y/n) pov

My name was given to me by my grandmother. My mother died while giving birth to me. She had always been frail but very kind. At least from what my father has told me. She was an earth bender and he was a fire bender. They hoped i would be a fire bender. But their hopes werent realized.

I was born with earth bendind and i was a natural at it too. I was told to keep it a secret tho. So i did.
I was put in the fire nation all girls academy. Thats where i met mei, Azula and tai lee.

They all became my best friends. But mei just so happened to be my other half. Her and i were super close.

One day i went to spend the night with her. I told mei everything about me. I trust her more than my own father. She promised to keep it a secret.
She will always keep that secret.

-now to the present day-

"(Y/n)!! Wake up!" Azula yelled and opened the curtains.
I was currently staying with azula because my father is off at war and Mei is in omashu.

She had the extra space because Zuko was banished and all so i get to stay in his room. Even tho he has been gone it still smells like him.

Azula said she would get her servants to clean everything but i said no because the day zuko does come back i'm sure he would be pissed if his room smelt like flowers.

I rolled outta bed and got ready. Azula and i have gotten closer we even started training together. When i was about twelve tai lee was almost crushed by rocks so i sorta bended them and saved her. They were wowed that i was an earth bender. But since i was fighting for them i wasnt banished or locked up. In fact the threw me a feast because i saved tai lee and i wasnt a non bender.

Right now Azula was trying to get a move perfectly and she has a short fuse so she tends to get angry easily.
I was just watching trying to watch her fighting style. Suddenly a messenger showed up telling us where zuko and Iroh are.

Azula had and smile plastered on her face now. "So little zuzu is back huh?" She said and began walking towards me.
"Wanna come?" I nodded and we both left on the boat.

A day later we arrived to where they were. Before we show up unannounced we decided to eat some breakfast. Energy is good to have.

We waited in a house for their arrival then suddenly they walked in.
"Azula what are you doing here?" Zuko asked before even saying hi.
"Usually you are supposed to say a greeting before asking questions, have you lost your manners?" Azula said with annoyance in her voice.
"Like i care!" Zuko yelled.

Right about now i felt invisible, Zuko was also one of my closest friends. Seeing him be banished was really hard.
Now that he is here again i wanted to hug him but couldnt.

"Zuzu father wants to back home, he regrets what he did" she said with such honesty and compassion in her voice.
"Really?" Zuko sounded super happy.
"Hurry and pack come to the boat when you ready" she smiled and waved.

Zuko and i made eye contact and smiled.
"Wow (y/n) you've grown a lot" iroh said and smiled
"It has been a few years, see you two soon! Also zuko i can't wait to hang out again" i ran off and waited on the boat and hummimg to myself.

"Oh my (y/n) you seem happy"
"Well i am" i said and hugged azula and she hugged back.
She was like a big sister to me too!

Hours later zuko and iroh had finally showed up. They were walking up and a guard said something that made my eyes widen. "Prisoners?" I whispered to myself. Time seemed to stop. Zuko looked at me with hurt and he say my hurt. He knew i didnt know. He mouthed the words. 'We will meet again' and he and iroh were gone.

Azula was flung over board so i helped her up and she looked scary.
I sat down and stayed like that until she spoke.

"I'm sorry i didn't tell you the real reason (y/n) i knew you wouldn't come if i did"
"Its okat Azula, i just don't get why. What did he do wrong?"
"He has made this family a joke, he is an embarrassment to us all"
"I never saw him like that"
"You will eventually, lets go home"

We went back and most of the time i was silent. Azula tried to cheer me up. Usually she never tries but she cares about me so i understand.

We layed down and just talked about the past. Back when things made sense.
Now its all complicated. One day i hope the avatar brings back the peace. Im sick of war.
