Chapter XI

Hazel’s Point of View

Today is Raine’s birthday. It is required that I wear a dress, which I don’t want to do. I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I was wearing a white Forever 21 Mesh Inset Bodycon dress with black Dr Martens Victorian Flowers lace-up boot. My hair was down, curly. My face was made up with Maybelline Volum’ Express mascara, Endless Ruby Maybelline Superstay 24HR lipcolor, and Natural Beige Maybelline Fit-Me Shine Free foundation.

I grabbed my iPhone and walked downstairs. My mom was standing downstairs with Adrian in one hand and a gift bag in the other. She was dressed in a black Halston Heritage pleated maxi dress with white Vince Ada leather ankle-strap pumps. Her hair was down in her natural wavy hair. She had Adrian dressed up.

‘’Mom, I don’t like dresses.’’ I said.

‘’This one afternoon, Hazel then you can go back to wearing whatever.’’ She said jumping up. Dad walked downstairs in his casual wear.

‘’Let’s go.’’ My mom said. We all walked out of the house to my mom’s Range Rover. I got into the backseat with Adrian. I got out my phone and texted Roc.

Me: I’m wearing a dress.

Roc😚✨🙈: Haha, seen me a picture.

I went to my Camera app and took about 4 pictures. I took the best one and sended it to Roc.

Roc😚✨🙈: Awww, you look pretty.

Me: Shut up, I don’t like dresses but I have to for my niece’s fourth birthday party.

Roc😚✨🙈: Aww you're an aunty.

Me: Yes, she is so cute! Anyway I’ll you send you picture of her.

Roc😚✨🙈: Ok. What you doing tonight??

Me: Nothin’ why?

Roc😚✨🙈: Just wonderin’.

Me: Gotta to go. Love you best friend😘😘!!

I locked my phone and the car stopped. I got out and walked to the back of the house. A few people were sitting down socializing. Ashley ran over to me, hugging me.

‘’Raine actually wanted to see you.’’ She said. I nodded and followed her. I seen Raine playing on the bouncy house. Her eyes let up when she seen me. She ran out and hugged my leg.

‘’Aunty Hazel!’’ She exclaimed. I grabbed her and put her on my hip.

‘’Hey baby girl, how you looking your party?’’ I asked.

‘’I love it. Mom said that she has my big surprise in the middle of the party.’’ She said.

‘’Awesome. You have fun, okay.’’ I said, sitting her down on the ground.

‘’Can you play with me?’’ She asked.

‘’Sure.’’ I smiled. She grabbed my hand and ran to the slide. She got in between my legs and we slid down. After playing for a while, I was tired. I sat down at a picnic table. My mom handed Adrian to me.

 ‘’I have to go use the bathroom, watch him.’’ She said. I nodded and sat him down in my lap. I looked at him and kissed his forehead. He was a chubby baby. My mom walked back out and grabbed Adrian. Ashley walked over to me.

 ‘’The performers are here. I want you to guide them back here please.’’ She said. I nodded and got up. I brushed down my dress and walked into the house. I stopped dead in my tracks when I seen who was the performers. OMG Girlz is in my presence.

 ‘’Hi, I’m Raine’s aunt, Hazel.’’ I said introducing myself.

 ‘’Hi we’re OMG Girlz.’’ Babydoll said.

 ‘’Well the party is back here.’’ I said guiding them outside.

 ‘’Here they are.’’ Ashley shouted. Raine squealed. I walked over to her and sat down beside her. She sat down in my lap. They started singing Gucci This, Gucci That. Raine was singing aloud. They sung one more song before stopping.

 ‘’Okay, we want to birthday girl with us for this song.’’ Star said. Raine got up and ran over to them.

 ‘’What’s your name?’’ Star asked, kneeing down to Raine’s size.

 ‘’Raine.’’ She said.

 ‘’Okay, Ms. Raine. Do you know Baddie?’’ She asked.

 ‘’Yes, I love that song.’’ Raine said, smiling.

 ‘’Were going to sing it.’’ She said. Raine smiled and kept the microphone in her hand. I got out my phone and started recording. She was singing so cute, I got to send this to Roc. When she was done, she ran over to me.

 ‘’You did good boo.’’ I smiled.

 ‘’Thank you, aunty!’’ She exclaimed. I hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead. I’m already in love with my niece.

 Roc Royal’s Point of View

 Everything about her is get memorizing. Her smile is beautiful. Her curly hair is fun to play in. You guessed it, I’m talking about Hazel. She is so beautiful. It’s like she’s a angel. Being her best friend is cool but I want to be with her. Currently, I was playing Combat Warfare with Prince.

 ‘’Doofus, what’s wrong?’’ Prince asked.

 ‘’I caught feelings, man.’’ I said.

 ‘’For who? Hazel?’’ He asked.

 ‘’No, Dorothy.’’ I said sarcastically.

 ‘’Don’t get smart. Just tell her.’’ He said.

 ‘’No, I can’t.’’ I said.

 ‘’Why not? Are you afraid?’’ He asked.

 ‘’It’s that she is my best friend. I don’t know if she feels the same way.’’I said.

 ‘’Roc, from what I hear she is crazy about you.’’ He said.

 ‘’Where did you hear this from?’’ I asked.

 ‘’From my babe. She showed me her Instagram. You have been her Man Candy Monday for about three months now. Take the chance, she ain’t gonna be single forever.’’ He said.

 ‘’Your right. I’ll ask her out tomorrow. The fair is in town and I’ll get my chance to kiss her on the ferris wheel.’’ I said.

 ‘’Yeah, Jas’mariee wants to go to the fair and I promised her.’’ He said.

 ‘’When did you two start going out?’’ I asked.

 '’For about a month now.’’ He said. Damn, even Prince can get a date. My phone dinged, meaning I had a text. I unlocked my phone and seen a picture of Hazel and a little girl. I smiled and locked my phone.

 ‘’You think Hazel and I would be a good couple?’’ I asked.

 ‘’Yeah, y’all perfect.’’ He said. I nodded my head and unpaused the game. I don’t want this to mess up our friendship, but I’ll never know if I don’t try.
