Chapter XXIII

Hazel’s Point of View

I laid in the bed, blinking tears out of my eyes. Today is Christmas but I’m don’t feel all joyful and shit. Chresanto is the worst. My bedroom door opened and Princeton walked in. I turned the other way and he sat down beside me

‘’Hazel, get up and stop crying. It’s Christmas and you need to be downstairs with Marie and me.’’ He said.

‘’I don’t wanna.’’ I said quietly.

‘’Come on, don’t let Roc ruin your day.’’ He said. I sighed and got out of bed. I walked downstairs to see Jas’mariee sitting on the floor. We all got our presents and began ripping off the wrapping paper. My parents got me clothes, shoes, and money. I also found the keys to a Audi. I slightly smiled and looked around.

‘’I’mma go back upstairs.’’ I said.

‘’No, we’re going to stay with us down he-.’’ Marie said getting cut off by the door. I got up and walked to it. I opened it and seen Chresanto. I turned around and walked upstairs to my room, slamming the door. He thinks being here is gonna make it better. I got into the bed, under my sheets. I don’t want him near me. The door opened and the bed dipped.

‘’Babe, talk to me.’’ He said. I ignored him and closed my eyes.

‘’Why are you mad? I came to spend Christmas day with my girl.’’ He said.

'’Talk to me.’’ He said softly. I said nothing to him. He poked my side but I won’t budge.

 ‘’Baby, whatever I did I’m sorry.’’ He said. He pulled the covers from over my body. He made me look into his eyes.

 ‘’Roc, get out my face.’’ I said. He sighed and got up. He walked over to my bedroom door. He looked back at me then walked out. Relationships. Why do they have to be so damn complicated.

 Roc Royal’s Point of View

 I stood outside of the bedroom door. What did I do? I walked downstairs to see Marie and Prince making out on the couch. I cleared my throat and they stopped.

 ‘’How is she?’’ Prince asked.

 ‘’She wouldn’t talk to me. All she said was ‘’Roc get out my face.’’’’ I said.

 ‘’I’ll go talk to her.’’ Marie said, walking up the stairs. I sat down and sighed.

 ‘’Prince, what did I do wrong?’’ I asked.

 ‘’I don’t know.’’ He said. Marie walked back down about ten minutes later. She looked at me and I got up. We walked into the kitchen and I sat down at the island.

 ‘’What’s wrong with her?’’ I asked.

 ‘’She feels like you don’t wanna be with her. Did you buy her a Christmas present?’’ She asked. I shook my head. ‘’Damn, she bought you Jordans, some clothes, and a gold chain.’’ She said.

 ‘’I’ll go try to talk to her.’’ I said. I got up and walked upstairs. I opened the door and she was sitting under her blanket.

 ‘’Hazel, baby.’’ I said. ‘’I’m sorry, I guess I forgot that you’re my girl and you wanna see me too. Since you probably won’t see me until summer break again. I really love you.’’ I said. She looked at me in disbelief.

 ‘’You actually love me?’’ She asked.

 ‘’Yeah, it just took someone to tell me what love is.’’ I said, She sat up and pecked my lips. She looked at me and smiled.

 ‘’I got you some stuff.’’ She said handing me a box. I opened it and seen everything I ever wanted.

 ‘’Thank you babe. I didn’t get you nothing though.’’ I said.

 ‘’It’s okay.’’ She said.

 '’No it’s not, we’re going to go out and buy you want every you want.’’ I said.

 ‘’Babe, I’m fine.’’ She said. I got beside and kissed her forehead. She cuddled into my embraced and I put my head on hers.

 ‘’Babe why were you mad?’’ I asked. She sighed loudly.

 ‘’I don’t know, honestly I wanted to get some of your time before you leave again.’’ She said.

 ‘’You’re my girl, you got me. Skype, Facetime, text, or call me when you get lonely. I’ll do anything to show you I care.’’ I said.

 ‘’Chresanto, I know you will but we got all these things we have to do that we can’t do those things.’’ She said.

 ‘’We can. I know you have classes and extracurricular activities. We need to do something that will work for both of us.’’ I said.

 ‘’I know, but I got all these extra things I have to do.’’ She said. I sighed and held her tighter.

 ‘’Our relationship is going to work, I know it is.’’ I said.

 ‘’Chresanto, I know we are but what happens if we don’t?’’ She asked.

 ‘’Don’t focus on the bad. As long as you love me and I love you we ain’t gotta worry about nothing going wrong with this relationship.’’ I said. She smiled warmly and played with my chain. ‘’How is school?’’ I asked.

 ‘’Good, I’m maintaining my good grades and the step team is incredible.’’ She said. I nodded and looked at the necklace I bought her. She put her hand on my thigh and I wrapped my arm around her. She pulled the blanket over us and turned on the TV.

 ‘’What is it like meet fans and performing?’’ She asked.

 ‘’It feels like I’m making new friends and meeting our beautiful fans. We connect with them like no other band does.’’ I said.

 ‘’I’m glad I’m part of the Mindless Movement.’’ She said smiling. I smiled at her and she channel-surfed.

 ‘’How is high school?’’ I asked.

 ‘’It’s cool. I know almost everyone and I like most of my classes.’’ She said.

 ‘’That’s cool.’’ I said. She turned to Santa Paws.

 ‘’I have always wanted a puppy.’’ She said. I smiled and put my head on hers. This is what it feels like to be in love with someone.
