Chapter XVII

Hazel’s Point of View

 I was sitting with Princeton, Chresanto, and Jas’mariee on the floor of Chresanto’s bedroom. I was laying on Chresanto’s back which was comfortable. We were all silent till’ we heard a knock on the door. Chresanto tapped my leg, motioning me to get up. I rolled off of him onto the floor. He got up and walked downstairs. All of a sudden, we all heard glass being shattered.

 We got up and ran downstairs to see Chresanto on top of Prodigy, punching him in his face. Jas’mariee helped me with Chresanto, while Princeton got Prodigy.

 ‘’Man, I thought we were bros! You just gonna quit like that!’’ Chresanto barked, trying to get out of our grip.

 ‘’This group ain’t going nowhere! I deserve more!’’ Prodigy shouted.

 ‘’Man Prod, you really money hungry! What about Team Mindless?! What about the pact we made?!’’ He shouted.

 ‘’I’m sorry about them.’’ He said walking out of the house. Chresanto pushed us to the side and stormed upstairs.

 ‘’Let him calm down. Let’s go get some ice cream.’’ Princeton said, opening the door. We walked out of the house and to his car. I got into the back seat and laid down. I hope Chresanto is okay.

 Roc Royal’s Point of View

 I’m pissed off, that nigga think it’s all about the money and fame. No it’s about our fans and music. I walked downstairs not seeing Princeton, Jas’mariee, or Hazel. I walked outside to the back. I took off my tank top and jumped into the pool. I went underwater, to think. This shit is gonna make me lose it.

 ‘’Chresanto!’’ Someone shouted. I swam back up and seen Hazel. She was holding two ice cream cones in her hands.

 ‘’We brought you back some ice cream.’’ She said showing her beautiful smile. I got out of the pool and sat down beside her. Even in sweatpant and a hoodie she looked beautiful.

 ‘’You calm now?’’ She asked.

 ‘’Yeah, I just need to get cool down.’’ I said. She didn’t say anything. We ate our ice cream in peace.

 ‘’Chresanto, you have ice cream on your cheek.’’ She said. I wiped everywhere on my face.

 ‘’Let me get it.’’ She said moving closer. She took her thumb and caressed my cheek.

 ‘’I got it.’’ She said smiling.

 ‘’Do you come home for Christmas?’’ She asked.

 ‘’If we get it off. I miss my cousins.’’ I said.

 ‘’Do they live here?’’ She asked.

 ‘’Yeah, but they live in Sunnyvale.’’ I said.

 ‘’Why don’t you go visit?’’ She asked.

 ‘’It’s a five hour drive from here.’’ I said.

 ‘’That’s why you stay here with Ray and Princeton.’’ She said.

 ‘’Yeah and I miss my two dogs.’’ I said.

 ‘’I wish I have one. I wanted one of the dogs that Princeton has.’’ She said.

 ‘’Beans?’’ I asked.

 ‘’Yeah.’’ She said. We sat in silence till’ Jas’mariee came running behind Prince yelling in Spanish.

 ‘’Jas'mariee lo que está mal con usted?’’ Hazel said. [Jas’mariee what is wrong with you?]

 ‘’Princeton, dijo otro nombre perra, cuando dijo que me amaba!’’ Jas’mariee shouted, shooting a glare at Prince. [Princeton, said another bitch name, when he said he loved me!]

 ‘’What do you do?’’ I asked.

 ‘’I accidently said another girl’s name when I told Jas’mariee I loved her.’’ He said.

 ‘’Boy, you fucked up.’’ I said.

 ‘’She is crazy, she got a curling iron and tried to burn me.’’ He said.

 ‘’I’m going inside and letting you work this out.’’ I said getting up. I walked inside and upstairs to my bedroom. I changed into sweatpants with black Nike Elite socks. I laid down on my floor and closed my eyes. We got to do this tour when everyone goes back to school. Hazel will probably find someone when I leave. Someone sat down on my back. I opened my eyes and seen Hazel.

 ‘’Were you sleep?’’ She asked.

 ‘’No, what’s up?’’ I asked.

 ‘’Nothing, it was funny watching them argue.’’ She said.

 ‘’Are they still arguing?’’ I asked.

 ‘’Yeah, I got tired so I came up to talk with my boyfri- I mean best friend.’’ She said. She was about to call me her boyfriend.

 ‘’Were you about to call me your boyfriend?’’ I asked, smirking.

 ‘’Well, umm.’’ She said embarrassingly.

 ‘’Do you want to be with me?’’ I asked.

 ‘’I don’t know, long distance isn’t easy.’’ She said.

 ‘’But once it’s settled when I get a minute

You already know what I’m on

Late night, pajamas on

Skype up put your camera on

Whatever it takes to give you attention

Prove to you, you’re all I want cause’  

I’m ready for love.’’ I rapped, looking into her eyes. She sighed and looked down at the floor.

 ‘’Chresanto, we both got jobs. I got to focus on my junior year and you got to focus on your music.’’ She said.

 ‘’Hold up, you fifteen and you in your junior year?’’ I asked.

 ‘’I took advance classes and I ended up getting twice as standard credits. I’m also in a college program which I’m studying to be a teacher, I already got one year of college out the way. I’m also on the step team, which I might be a cheerleader this year.’’ She said. She is smart.

 ‘’Meaning we might end up graduating at the same time.’’ I said smiling.

 ‘’But I’ll be a teacher by the age of 20 or 21.’’ She said.

 ‘’Interesting, but you didn’t answer my question.’’ I said.

 ‘’Can you give me to the end of the summer?’’ She asked.

 ‘’Yeah, I’ll wait a million years if I have to.’’ I said making her giggle.

 ‘’Chres, can I stay over?’’ She asked.

 ‘’Sure.’’ I said. We got onto the bed and I grabbed my iPhone and took pictures of us. She looked up and covered her faces. I unlocked my phone and went to Instagram. I posted that picture with a caption ‘’With my best friend.’’

 ‘’Chresanto, I looked horrible.’’ She said.

 ‘’No you looked good.’’ I said. I seen her cheeks turn a rosy red. I kissed her cheek and they look like she was overheating. I know one day I’mma make her mine.
