"Hold on, what?" Your lowered eyes flicked towards Dipper and away from your steaming coffee. You gave him a stare that could kill.

He called you about some urgent news, and you and Monty met up with him and Mabel at Greasy's Diner. Bill–who claimed to never sleep–was still asleep, or you would've brought him along.

"I was surprised, too." Dipper said, not at all bothered by the look you were giving him. "I don't think anyone expected them to come back already, but it's a good thing. I was talking to Grunkle Ford and he said he could find a way to send him back to whatever place he came from."

"That's great," Monty said before taking a drink from his cup. "How's he gonna do it?"

"I have no idea, but at least you guys won't have to worry about him anymore."

You stared at the steam rising up from your coffee, eyebrows knit together. "But, the whole reason why he's here is because Mom put him here in the first place. Wouldn't she just send him back?"

"Your mom seems really understanding." Said Mabel. "I'm sure if you just explain you don't want him anymore, she'll put him in some jail so he's out of everyone's hair."

That wasn't even the slightest bit endearing. Your fingers wrapped around the warm cup and you looked up to meet eyes with the twins in front of you.

"What am I supposed to tell him?"

"Tell him?" Monty repeated. "(Y/N), there's nothing to tell him. Once he's gone, he's gone. He isn't our problem anymore. We can stop lying to your friends and we can do what we came here to do. Have fun, not stay home all the time babysitting a demon."

"Ex demon." You corrected.

"Demon ex." Mabel tossed in.

You glanced at her, and she chuckled.

"If these guys can take care of it, we should let them without letting Bill know. If he finds out he could plan to hurt them or even you."

You remained silent, knowing if you said anything it would come across as suspicious. Besides, you weren't quite ready to admit you had feelings for him. Heck, you could hardly even admit it to yourself.

"I know this goes against your morals," Dipper started. "But think about it. If he's lying and endangering us, the best thing we can do is make him leave before he tries to take over the town a second time."

"I get it, but I just don't... you know, he's been with us so long, I doubt he had his powers. I think he told the truth when he said he was human, and if that's the case, then he can't hurt us. At least, no more than Monty could hurt you."

"What if he's just really good at hiding it?" Mabel suggested with a shrug. "The only way to make sure there's no problem is to get rid of the threat."

You knew arguing was no use. It was apparent none of them liked Bill, and highly unlikely they could even tolerate him. Trying to get them to let him be was almost as impossible of getting your dad to take a break from his anomalies.

"Ford said they'd be back by tomorrow." Dipper said. "Then, he'll be out of your hair and everything can go back to normal."

You glanced up and met his eyes. Dipper gave you a reassuring smile, which you returned with a not so convincing one of your own.

You were terrified. You didn't want to say goodbye to him. And the worst part was there was nothing you could do about it.

"Are you sure you don't want to come?"

"I'm positive. The grocery store is boring, anyway, it's not like I'm missing out on much. I just want strawberries, okay? Don't forget them."
