"Shhh, Jazz." Danny sighs shakily. The girl in question's breath hitches and she laughs lightly, tears streaming down her face. "I'm sorry," she says. "I'm your big sister and you're my little brother. My little brother. I'm supposed to protect you, but here you are saving the world, and when you needed me the most, I wasn't there." Jazz admits. He laughs a wet laugh and blood begins to trickles out of the corner of his mouth. "S'okay... you're... here n-now." He stutters out, smiling.

He wishes he could say more, but whenever he tries to say something, he ends up forcing it and it comes out in broken stutters. He can feel the wound in his chest, the blood, the pain, but it's fading. Fast. Danny can't quite determine whether that's a good or a bad sign. He analyzes Jazz's face and concludes that he hates the look on her face and the look in her eyes. She looks guilty and horrified. She shouldn't be feeling guilty. It wasn't her fault. It's not like she's the one who stabbed him.

She runs her fingers through his blood-crusted ebony hair and sobs loudly. Jazz looks down at her baby brother's eyes, the blue-green depths filled with pain and worry for her. He's dying, they both know it, his heaving gasps to breathe say so, yet he's worried for her. That's Danny for you though. An idiotic, stubborn, selfless hero to the very end.

His face is pale, well paler and the already dull light in his eyes is fading fast. She shakes her head. "You're so brave." She murmurs. "And I'm so, so proud of you." He has to know that. He nods slightly, his eyes fluttering and breath hitching. She knows he's losing consciousness. It breaks her heart. No, her heart is already broken. It shatters her heart, to see him so hurt like this. She hesitantly looks at the stab wound in his chest, green and red blood pouring out and mixing together to create a large puddle on the ground. She swallows down the rising bile and looks away, going back to threading her fingers through his hair.

*Flashback*

"Danny!" she yells as he falls out of the sky and a cracking noise fills the air as he hits the ground, creating a small, broken, crater. The ghost, one that she knows she's never seen before, grabs Danny by the collar of his black and white suit, picking him up and then slamming him into the ground again. Her brother moans in pain, the hurt noise striking her deep in her chest. The ghost's hands tighten around the boy's neck and Danny gasps, weakly clawing at the older ghost's arms.

He easily lifts Danny up again and violently throws him into the side of a nearby building. Danny crashes hard against it, the glass shattering and falling to the ground. Danny, too, nearly crumbles to the ground, but the ghost appears in front of him and grabs him by the throat. The ghost boy gasps and kicks uselessly, his face turning a darker color as his airway is obstructed.

Jazz continues to run towards him and can hear the distant footsteps of Sam and Tucker as well. Danny had been missing for half the day, half the day, sending them into a slight panic, but imagine their surprise when they find him in the park battling it out, and losing, with some new ghost. Why hadn't he called for help? They could have helped. Distracted the ghost, even got more help. At least done something. The ghost reaches into it's belt and takes out a knife already stained with blood. Jazz gasps in horror, hoping what's going to happen isn't, but starts screaming as he stabs it through her 16 year old brother's chest.

Danny's eyes widen in pain and surprise, a choked noise bubbling up from his throat along with his blood. His struggling becomes sluggish and his eyes start to droop. A flash of light reveals he's reverted back to his human form and Jazz feels like she couldn't be running slower. The ghost rips the knife out of the halfa's chest fast and Danny, released from his grip, finally falls to the ground. First onto his knees, then onto his chest. Jazz doesn't even bother paying attention to the ghost as he glances at her before disappearing.

*End Flashback*

"I-I love you little brother." She says quietly, but still loud enough that he'll be able to hear. She leans down, kisses his sweaty forehead, squeezing her eyes shut and holding him tighter, tears covering her face and dripping down onto his hair. Some landing on his face. "I love you....too...big sis." He answers back, his voice fading as his words go on. He gives a shaky sigh and goes limp in her arms, closing his eyes.

The bleeding slows to a stop as does his breathing and Jazz sobs, clutching him ever closer to her. She vaguely hears faded footsteps running up to her and muffled voices but she doesn't care. How could she care? She's a terrible sister. Her precious and only little brother is dead and she hadn't been there to protect him. She can feel his blood all over her hands, and is acutely aware of how it's covering his sweatshirt and the ground. She's in shock now and she knows it.

Her mind just hasn't quite registered that her brother is dead.
