"Oh, come on, Sam! Do it!" Tucker urges. "Tucker, I will not do a witch laugh." Sam groans. "If you won't do a witch laugh, then why'd you dress up as a witch in the first place?" The pirate clad nerd asks. Sam gives an exasperated sigh and smacks her friend upside the head.
"Okay!" Danny exclaims as he walks back into the room, stopping his friend's costume feud before it goes farther. Tucker and Sam whistle at their friend and his costume, which of course, is a vampire. Sam looks the halfa up and down appreciatively, knowing it's one of the few times she's going to get to see him in a suit. Tucker looks over at her pointedly and she smacks him again. Danny gives them both a strange look and Tucker shakes his head, whispering, "Clueless." under his breath.
"What?" Danny asks furrowing his brow and his friends realize they forgot about his enhanced hearing. "Nothing," Sam starts. "Are you ready?" He nods and she smiles, dragging them out of Danny's room and down the stairs. "I'm guessing you guys have come down because you're ready to go?" Jazz asks, walking up to them dressed like some Greek goddess. They nod and the oldest of the four leads them to her car to drive them to the park.
"Have you guys ever even come here before?" Jazz questions as they discreetly walk up to the party. "Not really." Tucker admits. Jazz gives a sharp nod before spinning around on her heel to face them. She looks at them for a second and steps up to fix Danny's tie and maroon vest before waving goodbye and leaving the trio to their own devices. "So, now what to do we do?" The youngest Fenton asks. "Oh, I don't know, Danny, party?" Sam snaps back sarcastically before freezing, staring at something past his shoulder.
Danny turns around to see Ember, dressed like an archer, and Skulker, dressed like a Viking. Danny's jaw drops in surprise but he quickly wipes the incredulous look off his face and makes his way over to the older ghosts. They weave their way through tables and people, Tucker snatching snacks as they go along.
"Oh! Hey, dipstick what are you doing here?" Ember asks. "We live here." Sam responds. Skulker snorts. "You live here? In the park?" "No she meant- you know what never mind, what are you doing here?" Danny questions them. Ember gestures around the party then to her and her boyfriend's costumes. "We come here every year." "You do?!" The trio yells.
"Is this another one of those truces?" Tucker asks, remembering Danny telling him about the Christmas truce. Ember frowns. "Not... not really." "We just come to hang out, Ghosts have fun too, you know." Skulker admits.
Someone screeches loudly next to them and they all turn to see a person running away from spectra, who's smiling and looking like she's about to laugh.
"Do all ghosts come here just to have fun?" Danny asks over his shoulder as the older ghost turns to scare another person. "No, some come to cause trouble. Like we said, it isn't really a truce." Ember tells them.
"Then, we need to help." Danny demands, running behind a nearby tree to transform. "Aw, man." Tucker groans, stuffing the rest of the pumpkin spice pastry in his mouth. "I hate our hero life." The tech geek turns to where Sam once was but groans even louder when he sees her running off towards Spectra.
"C'mon, dears..." Spectra says as she swipes her hand towards herself, trying to get two twins to approach her.
"Spectra!" Danny shouts. The woman jumps in surprise and stands up from her crouched position as the two kids run away. "Oh. Hello, Phantom." Danny opens his mouth but stops and closes it, losing his defensive stance. She wasn't...doing anything. She almost had a slight smile on her face and, glancing around, people didn't seem to be too bothered by her being there. "What are you.... what are you doing here?" He asks, feeling like he might have jumped the gun a bit.
"Oh, haven't you heard? Some ghosts come to hang out with the humans during Halloween." She tells him. He frowns. He knows that already. "You specifically, I mean. Right now." The halfa emphasizes. "Oh. Oh." She laughs lightly and slightly nervously. "I suppose this looks bad doesn't it?" She says, gesturing to where she had been laughing earlier. "I'm not here to do anything bad, I actually like talking to the humans."
Danny crosses his arms and hovers slightly off the ground Sam comes up beside him and they glance at each other. "What about when you were laughing earlier?" Sam asks. "Nothing of my doing." Spectra admits. "The person had gotten embarrassed in front of someone so they ran off, it was quite funny."
"We've got.... you now.... Spectra!" Tucker yells, running up to his two friends as he pants from running so far. Sam and Danny stare at him and Tucker looks around, noticing that none of them looked like they were going to fight any time soon. "Oh. Oh, are we not... does that mean I can go back to the pastries?" He asks, pointing a finger behind him. Danny slaps a hand onto his face and Sam sighs, ducking her head. "Sure." Danny says, patting his best friend on the shoulder before Tucker runs off again.
"I guess we owe you an apology, Spectra." Danny admits. The ghost shrugs. "I guess I owe you one too. This is your town, it makes sense that you'd jump to defend it if you thought something could be amiss." Danny nods before Spectra waves goodbye and disappears back into the crowd.
"Well, that was interesting." Sam says, dragging Danny by the hand and back behind a tree where he can change back. They glance over at the party to see Spectra now talking with Ember and Skulker, Jazz dancing with someone from her grade, and Tucker, trying to secretly stuff food in his mouth when he believes no one is looking. "Should we uh... should we dance?" Danny asks, holding out his hand to Sam. "We should." Sam agrees and they run back to the middle of the park to dance.
