Snow.
So.
Much.
Snow.
Danny gives a grumble as he lifts his foot out of the powder, shaking it in hopes of getting rid of the snow. "Dude, I thought you liked Christmas now?" Tucker asks, shoving his gloved hands into his oversized coat's pockets. "Just because I'm getting used to Christmas now, does not mean I like snow." The halfa reasons.
Tucker shrugs and looks back down at the snow. "I like it, it makes everything look so cool and... and uh... cool." He repeats, laughing nervously at his inability to come up with anything else. Danny snorts. "That's nice." The dark haired boy responds. Danny had been getting used to Christmas, finding he didn't hate it as much as he thought he did, but it still bothered him. Just, for a totally different reason now.
Before, he didn't like Christmas because his parents always fought about Santa Claus, but they don't anymore, now that they know it bothers him. Now, now he dislikes Christmas (not as much as he did before!) because of his species. Being a half ghost half human. He spends most of his time and sacrifices his life to fight ghosts, and everyone just acts like everything is okay around Christmas time, when it isn't.
Sure the ghosts have that 'Christmas Truce' thing going on, but that didn't stop the GhostWriter from ruining his last Christmas, now did it? What if it happens again? With a different ghost of course...
"You're making that face again."
"What face?"
"Your 'I'm-going-to-have-a-bad-day' face."
"That's not a face."
"Yes it is!"
Danny snorts and crosses his arms, looking over at the park. Everything has a few inches worth of snow coating it, sunlight dancing off the color and shining onto nearby buildings. Frost weaves intricate designs on every surface, the park's fountain an ice sculpture. It really is beautiful, despite how freezing it is, though the cold doesn't affect Danny as much as it used to.
"Just enjoy it, man." Tucker starts. His friend looks back over at him and Tucker smiles, putting an arm around the halfa's shoulders. "Enjoy Christmas for all its worth. You don't need to fight any ghosts so you can just relax and enjoy time with your family in a cozy warm house." Danny lets a small smile grace his face.
"Thanks Tuck, you're the best."
"Anytime!"

"We wish you a Merry Christmas! We wish you a Merry Christmas! We wish you a Merry Christmas... and a happy new year!"
Cheering and clapping breaks out through the room as Jazz stops singing, a proud grin splitting the red head's face. "That's my girl!" Maddie yells, jumping up from the couch to giver her daughter a big hug. Jazz laughs and hugs her mom back, reaching an arm out to her little brother. Danny smiles and hugs Jazz as well, Maddie wrapping an arm around him.
The three squeal in surprise as Jack comes up and hugs them, their feet lifting off the ground. "Jack, honey, we need to breathe!" Maddie gasps. "Oh, sorry, I was just so proud of my Jazzy!" He laughs, dropping them. Jazz blushes and gives him a hug. "Thanks, dad!" Jack looks over at his son and wife, still apologetic about the hug but Danny and Maddie just brush it off. "It's fine, dad." Danny reassures his father.
A knock on the door interrupts them and Maddie quickly rushes over to open it. Sam and Tucker walk through the door in their pajamas, piles of presents in their arms. "Merry Christmas!" They shout happily. Jack takes the presents to put under the tree as another Christmas song comes onto the radio that he starts singing to. He sets the presents down and grabs Maddie, the two of them dancing and twirling around.
"Hey Danny, how's Christmas going for you?" Tucker asks, nudging his friend in the side. Danny laughs, shoving him away lightly. "It's uh, it's actually going pretty okay." He admits, rubbing the back of his neck. Tucker laughs. "I knew you would like Christmas! Everyone does! You just had to get used to it." The tech-geek teases.
"Hey, Danny!" Sam smirks. "Hmm?" He asks, glancing over at her. The girl has her hands behind her back with a mischievous look on her face. He squints his eyes at her suspiciously but she only gestures for him to get closer, "Come here." She requests. Danny takes a step forward and her hand whips around from behind her back to above his head. The halfa tries to look up to see what she is holding but she only pulls him down, bringing him into a kiss.
His face immediately lights on fire with embarrassment and he swears he must be as red as a lobster. His family cheers and Tucker gives a loud, "Finally!" Sam pulls away and grins at him, the expression a mix between something mischievous and embarrassed. "Mistletoe." She jokes, bringing said plant down for him to see. "O-oh." The halfa responds lamely.
"You guys have to open your presents now!" Maddie informs excitedly, gesturing to the presents underneath the tree. Earlier, Sam and Tucker had come over sometime during the week to help decorate, Danny's family and friends going all out in their effort to make this Christmas a great one. Lights outline every window, their different colors illuminating the room with a rainbow tint.
Wreaths and Garland are hung around every corner, fake snow covering the stair's banister along with more lights. A large Christmas tree sits in the corner of the room, the branches decorated from head to toe in various ornaments. A glowing star sits atop the tree, catching the attention of anyone who walks near it. More rainbow lights are woven into the tree's branches and presents lay beneath it, the different shapes and sizes organized neatly. The lights in the house are dimmed, allowing them to see the Christmas lights more clearly.
A glance to the window reveals that snow is falling outside, the sky a dark black. Danny closes his eyes and takes a deep breath as Jazz walks over to the presents to begin opening them. The halfa takes in the warmth of the fireplace coupled with the hat on the top of his head and the Christmas pajamas he's wearing. His family is happy and they even managed to get Jazz to sing to them. Danny looks over at his parents, huge smiles on their faces as they continue to dance. Sam's hand slips into his and she leans her head on his shoulder. Danny looks over at her in surprise before smiling fondly, leaning his head down to lay on hers.
Yeah, maybe Christmas isn't so bad after all.
