Brooke's POV

"Me?" I asked.
"Yeah. Lee's going to be there, you know?" He questioned and I nodded.
"And?" I asked.
"He's still hurting deep down and he doesn't even realise you're back here." He sighed.
"Lee has a girlfriend Jake. I have a fiancé. Things will be fine, we can get on like normal friends would." I said.
"You don't get it." He sighed, shaking his head whilst standing up.
"Don't get what?" I asked, also standing up.
"Goodnight Brooke." Jake said, leaving me there, confused about that whole conversation. What don't I get?

I sighed loudly and fell to the floor, staring up at the stars once again. I think I get it. Jake was trying to say that it's not easy being friends with someone you used to be head over heels in love with. I understand that now. What am I even doing? Why am I back here? It's only making me question everything that's happened since the move and it shouldn't be like that. I love Drew more than anything but I think my feelings towards Lee are getting in the way. Who am I even kidding? He may not be the same boy that I loved so much when I was 17.
As my eyes scanned over the sky, a shooting star caught my eye. I grinned before squeezing my eyes shut and thinking of a wish. I huffed and opened them again.
"What's the point in wishing. My wishes never come true." I mumbled to myself. My phone began to vibrate in my pocket and I rolled my eyes, pulling it out and pressing it to my ear.
"Brooke? Where are you?" My fiancés voice flooded down my phone.
"I just went out for some fresh air. I'm on my way back now." I said, standing up and brushing off any dirt before taking the phone away from my ear and hanging up. He probably knows that something is wrong with me but oh well.

The walk back to the apartment was quiet, only a few cars passed me. As I walked up the stairs, the door flew open and Drew stood there with a worried look on his face.
"Where the hell have you been?" He asked, instantly pulling me into a bone crushing hug.
"I couldn't sleep." I mumbled and he pulled away, cupping my cheeks with his big hands.
"Why don't we go inside and sleep together?" He suggested and I nodded, pecking his lips before following him back inside the apartment.

"So, is Steph doing the hen party thing everyone does before a wedding?" Drew asked as we got under the covers.
"I think so yeah." I said before my eyes widened in realisation.
"What?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
"It's tomorrow and I completely forgot." I said, running my hand through my hair.
"Well then you best get some sleep and maybe go and see Steph tomorrow morning." Drew said and I nodded before sighing and nuzzling my head into his chest.
"Night baby." He said, kissing the top of my head. I smiled and kissed his chest before closing my eyes and falling into a deep sleep.

I. Hate. Jet. Lag.
I woke up way past twelve and I don't think I've ever gotten ready so quickly in my life. I told Steph I'd meet up with her at her place at about half twelve meaning I had half an hour to get ready. It was the most stressful morning I think I've ever had.

That brings me to now. I'm currently knocking on the door of my best friends house that I haven't seen in five long years. Crazy huh?
On my final knock, the door swung open and Steph stood there with half her makeup done and her hair in hair curlers. She squealed and pulled me in for a hug.
"Five years later and we finally reunite." Steph said, pulling away from the hug and examining every feature on my body.
"You look amazing." She grinned.
"I should be saying that to you. I literally woke up half an hour ago and dressed in sweats to come and visit you." I laughed and she shrugged.
"You still look great." She laughed and I thanked her before she allowed me inside. The house was beautiful.

"It's quite a nice place you got here." I smiled, looking around in awe.
"It took us forever to decorate. Jake literally had us painting every single wall in this house." She sighed and I laughed. Typical Jake.
Stephanie then led me into what I was assuming the be the kitchen where some random lady stood, getting together some makeup.
"Hi, I'm Brooke." I smiled, holding my hand out for her to shake which she politely did.
"I'm Vanessa." She grinned before telling Steph to sit down again.
"I made you a tea." Steph said, pointing to a mug beside the kettle. I thanked her and picked it up before sitting at the breakfast bar on one of the spinny chairs.

"So, how have you been?" Stephanie asked as I took a sip of my tea.
"It's been a busy couple of years but things are starting to settle down now so yeah, I'm great." I grinned.
"How have things been here?" I asked.
"Good. Jake has been out since last night and I think he's with lee at the moment." She said and my heart stopped for a second at the name 'Lee'.
"Yeah, I saw him last night." I said.
"What? Jake or lee?" She asked and I laughed slightly.
"Jake." I said.
"He said he couldn't sleep due to stressing over the wedding." I said and she rolled her eyes.
"Tell me about it. He's been getting more sleep than me." She laughed.

After a rather big catch up with Steph, she had her hair and makeup finished and then I was demanded to sit in the chair.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"You're getting our hair and makeup done for my hen party tonight." She grinned and told the lady how to do my hair and makeup. I'm so used to people doing my hair and makeup that it doesn't even faze me anymore. It's actually very relaxing.
"What time is it tonight?" I asked.
"Five." She replied. Great so I don't have long to find something to wear.

I haven't had a girls night in a long time so hopefully tonight should be great.
