Brooke's POV
"Dinner is ready." I shouted through the house before sitting down at the table.
Daisy was the first to join me at the table then Drew joined.
"This looks lovely." Drew grinned before tucking in to his food.
I watched as he cut up his chicken then I decided to start the conversation.
"Do you remember the Stephanie girl I spoke to you about a while back?" I asked and he looked up frowning before relaxing his face.
"Stephanie. Yes I do. Why's that?" He asked with a smile.
"She's getting married." I said.
"To your cousin? What's his name? James?" He asked and I laughed slightly.
"Jake." I corrected him before continuing.
"Its next month and they invited us both along." I said before stuffing some chicken into my mouth.
"Can I come along?" Daisy popped up from beside Drew.
"I'm afraid not. Your mum and dad are coming back on Friday." Drew said, answering for me.
"Oh." Daisy frowned, playing about with her food.
"You can come along to our wedding though." Drew grinned and daisy cheered. I don't know what it was but something about that sentence didn't feel right. Am I ready for this?
"Continue dear." Drew said softly, turning back to me.
"Would you like to go?" I asked.
"Where?" He questioned. Has he seriously forgotten what we were just talking about.
"To the wedding." I dead-panned and something in his mind clicked.
"Oh yeah, the wedding. How long would we be there for? I don't know if I can find the time off work." He said.
"I was thinking that maybe we could take a vacation or something. It'll be nice to see my family and stuff." I suggested.
"A vacation?" He asked and I nodded before placing my fork down on my plate and popping my elbows on the table.
"I just thought that it would be nice. Do you not want to go?" I asked and he shrugged.
"I don't know. It's like a 10 hour flight and I've got work to sort out and-" he started before I cut him off.
"I'll go by myself. Don't worry." I sighed, continuing to eat my food again.I would have liked Drew to come along with me but if he's going to be difficult then it looks like I'm going on my own.
----------------
I currently had my head in some sort of book, trying not to fall asleep. Drew and I need to talk about this wedding of Stephanie's properly because it's doing my head in. He's out with his mates for some sort of birthday party and he'll probably come back pissed so there's no point in even staying up.I sighed and closed the book, putting it back on the bookshelf and I made my way back to the bed, rubbing my tired eyes. Does anybody else's eyes go extremely dry when they're tired? Just me? Ok then...
Just as I was about to get under the covers, Drew stumbled in. I didn't even hear the front door go.
"Hello baby." He smiled, walking over and placing a kiss on my lips.
"How much have you had to drink?" I asked.
"Only one." He responded with a proud grin.
"Only one? I'm proud of you. You need to get rid of this little beer belly of yours before the wedding." I smirked, poking his belly with my index finger. He gasped playfully.
"This isn't my beer belly, it's my baby." He laughed, breathing out and making his belly stick out. I rolled my eyes playfully and wrapped myself up warm in the covers."I spoke to my boss when I was at davids." Drew said, taking off his jeans and putting on some clean jogging bottoms.
"Ok..." I said, unsure of why he was telling me this.
"I asked him if I could take anytime off for the wedding or vacation, whatever you're calling it and he said that I could only take a certain amount of time off. I'll be able to come to the wedding and stay for a couple of days but then I'll have to leave you to come back here and work." He explained, taking his top off and joining me under the covers.
"Really?" I asked and he nodded. A smile formed on my face and I leaned up to kiss his lips. They definitely tasted like alcohol but I didn't really care until his tongue slipped into my mouth and our breath mixed. I pulled away from the kiss and scrunched my nose up.
"Are you sure you only had one beer?" I asked.
"Damn, you caught me." He chuckled.
"I had two." He asked.
"Hmm... I though so." I smirked before connecting our lips again. Now that I know we can both definitely get to the wedding and be there, the thoughts of seeing all my friends and family again made me happy. However, Lee popped up and it was like everything else didn't matter although it should, It should matter more. Lee has probably moved on just like I have so I don't know why thinking of him just makes my insides go all mushy. I wonder what he looks like now and if he still does YouTube. I haven't seen him in five years so a lot can change. He could be dead for all I know. I'm joking, don't hurt me.
I guess you could say I'm just nervous to go back there and see everyone, especially Lee.
