Brooke's POV
"I love you. Don't miss me too much." Drew said as his flight was called.
"Don't you worry, I won't." I replied with a smirk.
"How could you." He gasped playfully before cupping my cheeks with his hands.
"I love you so much Brooke." He whispered and leaned in.
"I love you too Drew." I smiled, moving a little closer, allowing our lips to touch. He pulled away after a second and grabbed his luggage.
"I'll see you later then." He grinned as he knew I didn't like the term 'goodbye'.
"I'll see you later." I smiled, blowing him a kiss which he returned.Once he was no longer in sight, I walked outside where it still poured with rain. I forgot what British weather was like.
I hopped back in the taxi and the ride there wasn't too awkward. We chatted about a few things. My music being the main subject. He pulled up at the apartment I was staying in and I thanked him, pulling out some money and handing it to him.
I got out and watched as he drove off, digging about in my bag for my house keys, feeling the rain water dripping down my body.
"No, no, no, no, no, no!" I groaned, digging around further. I could have sworn I had them earlier. I'm losing everything. Oh god. After searching in my bag, for what felt like the hundredth time, I had to accept the fact that my keys where just not in my bag. Where could they be? I turned my back to the front door and slid to the ground, huffing as my bum came contact with the wet concrete. I pushed my wet hair out of my face and let out a frustrated groan. What am I going to do? I could always ring Steph. Yeah, that's what I'm going to do.
I took out my phone but it wouldn't work. Please don't tell me it's dead. Why didn't I charge it last night. I'm such an idiot. I threw my phone back into my bag and buried my head into my hands, shivering from the coldness of the rain that has soaked my clothes.
All I wanted to do when I got home was to cuddle up on the sofa, feasting out on a load of junk food whilst watching Netflix. My whole plans are ruined. I'm not a happy bunny.
What a fantastic Friday night."Brooke?" A voice said, I lifted up my head and tilted it to see Lee standing there. I smiled slightly.
"Is everything ok?" He asked, frowning.
"Just peachy, thanks." I lied.
Lee nodded, scanning my face and taking in the state I was in. He knew I was lying.
"I left my keys inside." I sighed in defeat.
"Ahh, I see. I thought you just liked to hang around outside your apartment in the pouring rain instead of inside." He smirked earning a glare from me.
"Sorry." He apologised before extending out a hand.
"Come on, I'm not letting you stay out here all night and we both know that there's no way for you to get back in your apartment." He said softly and I smiled.
"We could go back 5 years and have me climb in through a window." I smirked slightly.
"Possibly tomorrow." He chuckled, looking up at the sky, hinting that it was still raining and that it probably wasn't safe. I take his hand in mine, allowing him to help me stand. I pick up my bag and we run back to his car.Thank god someone showed up.
-----------------
"Do you want some dry clothes?" Lee asked as we entered his apartment. The last time I was here, I tried to murder him with a toilet plunger. I was surprised by the sudden question but nodded slowly, looking down at my wet clothes.
"Yes please." I said quietly.
"Follow me." He said softly and I followed him into where I assume to be his bedroom. In fact, it's the exact bedroom I woke up in a few days ago.I watched as he rummaged through his drawers, picking out some clothes before turning to me.
"Thank you." I smiled, taking them from him, our hands brushing ever so slightly. The small gesture was enough to give me butterflies and before my cheeks could turn bright red, I rushed to the bathroom, changing into the grey sweats and a plain white top. I threw my hair up into a high pony tail as I really couldn't deal with it soaking these clothes.Once I was finished, I walked out into the living room where Lee was sitting on the sofa flicking through the TV channels.
"Hey." I said softly, sitting myself down next to him. He turned to me and I could see his cheeks go a light shade of red. Is he blushing?
"Hey, um... is that better?" He asked, stumbling over his words. Cute, he's getting nervous.
"Dry clothes tend to be better than wet ones." I smirked which made him laugh a little.
"Yeah, of course." He nodded, looking back at the TV.
"Want to watch a movie?" He asked and I nodded, a big grin forming on my face.
"It was my original plans before I got locked out of my apartment. What about you though? Did you have any plans?" I asked and he shook his head.
"Nope and if I did, it's a good thing I didn't go because you'd still be sitting out there in the rain." He smirked, cocking an eyebrow.
"My saviour." I giggled.
"Damn right." He grinned before putting on a movie that I didn't recognise. Please be a good movie. In boring movies, I always fall asleep."Lee." I started.
"Brooke." He mocked, it's been a while since that happened.
"Are we friends?" I asked and he looked at me, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Of course we are. Why would you think differently?" He asked and I shrugged.
"I don't know how to say this without sounding rude." I sighed and he placed a hand on my thigh comfortingly.
"Whatever it is, I won't get offended." He laughed slightly.
"Ok, well, um, I'm engaged." I said and he nodded.
"I know, is that it?" He asked, confused.
"No. Listen, we're always going to have a history but I don't think we can go back to how we used to be. I'm going to be married, you've moved on and things are perfectly fine. I don't want us and our stupid past to come between things now. Can we just stay friends? I'd rather be friends than not anything at all." I said and he smiled.
"Friends it is." He grinned and I smiled, resting my head on his shoulder. This movie sure is boring...
