As they walked up the huge cabin they could already smell the freshly toasted bread and scrambled eggs. Ivy sniffs the air and her ears perk up as they get to the front door. Mason knocks before slamming the door open, "I'm home!" Ivy shakes her head taking a step inside. She is greeted with Cilas at the table and his wife placing the food onto the table. She smiles and walks over to Ivy, hugging her and kisses both of her cheeks, "Ivy, its so nice to see you honey. How have you been?" Ivy smiles and returns the hug, " I have been very well. Its nice seeing you too Elaina."

Elaina dusts off her apron before untying it and placing it on the counter, "Well have a seat, I've just finished making breakfast. We have scrambled eggs, sausage, toast with jam, and even a small batch of pancakes." She walks over and places a pitcher of orange juice on the table. She then places a cup of coffee in front of her husband and kisses him on the cheek. We all sit down and began to pile our plates with food.

Ivy grabbing two pancakes, drenching them in syrup, then grab her fork and digs in. Mason looks at her bewildered, "Ivy. How could you smother those two poor defenseless pancakes? You're going to end up in a sugar coma!" He waves around his fork trying to seriously make a point, but ends up failing miserably. Ivy glares at him and points her fork, "Hey! These are my pancakes, I eat them however I want to eat them, Capeesh?" Mason puts his hands up as his ears flatten in defeat, " Capeesh." They both look at each other before cracking up into laughter.

Cilas is taking a drink of his coffee as he reads a stack of papers, slowly his eyebrows furrowing. Elaina looks to her husband and frowns, " Cilas, what is wrong? Is there something troubling you?" Her husband sighs causing the whole table to grow quiet as they look to him," There have been people from the other villages disappearing, some say that it is the Shadow Scales. I'm afraid that someone from Cat Tail Village will be next."

Ivy brows furrow and she tilts her head, "Who are the Shadow Scales and what do they want with us?" Cilas gives Ivy a stern look, " Ivy, you must be careful of these people. They have been rumored to be kidnapping others for their own personal use. Now that you are going with King Xavier and with your peculiar heritage, you will most likely be on their list."

Ivy nods wearily, " I'll be careful. Plus I bet I can take on at least three of those Shady Pale,"  Mason interrupts, " Shadow Scales." Ivy points her finger glaring, " As I was saying, I can take on at least three of those 'Shadow Scales' with my hands tied behind my back."

Cilas and Elaina laugh at the two and everyone continued with breakfast without speaking of the whole Shadow Scale situation. Soon enough everyone was finished with their dishes and it was time for Ivy to go. Cilas and his wife walk up to Ivy, both giving her a tight hug saying their goodbyes. " Mason, take her to the village hall to meet the king. Oh and Ivy. Be careful," Cilas instructs his nephew.

Mason nods and picks up Ivy's suitcase opening the door. Ivy smiles and waves goodbye to the couple, grabbing her bags and exiting the house as they make their way towards the village hall.
