(Emerald's POV)
"Grovyle, use Leaf Blade on Milotic!!" I ordered.
"Venasuar, Petal Dance on Sealeo!!" Green called out.
"Maggie, Petal Blizzard on Whiscash!!" Gold commanded. We had been battling Wallace for a good while, and I must say that he's quite the formidable foe. He's using all Water type Pokémon, and even still, our Grass type Pokémon are having a hard time taking him down. I was beginning to worry that we wouldn't be able to get into Sky Pillar at this rate, but I knew I had to shake the thought from my head. We have to find Rayquaza no matter what. The Hoenn region and even the world needs us to. We can't let them down when we've gotten so close.
"Gold, Emerald..." Green called, earning our attention easily. Green met my gaze with his before continuing, "Listen, this battle is getting nowhere fast. I think it's about time we whip out our best move now." Green hinted. Gold and I glanced at each other and nodded in unison.
"Milotic, Sealeo, Whiscash, Ice Beam!!" Wallace commanded.
"Dodge it!!" Green, Gold and I chorused. Grovyle skillfully managed to jump over the attack while Venasuar and Meganium shifted out of the way.
"Gold!!" Green called out.
"Gotcha! Okay Maggie, use Sunny Day!!" Gold commanded.
The sunlight suddenly grew overly bright, causing Wallace to shield his eyes.
"Now, Solar Beam!!" Green, Gold, and I cried out in unison. The three Solar Beams that Grovyle, Venasuar, and Meganium launched all hit their targets directly, causing a large blast. When the smoke from the blast cleared, we could see all of Wallace's Pokémon lying on the ground, passed out from the battle they shared.
"Yes!!" Gold cheered.
"That's what I'm talking about!!" Green exclaimed with a chuckled, giving both Gold and I a high five. Before I could thank Grovyle for its hard work, my partner began to glow a bright white.
"I-it can't be..." I murmured in awe.
"Ha, looks like it's just about that time." Green stated casually.
When the light faded away, there stood a brand new Pokémon. Pulling out my Pokédex, I checked for the name and data of my partner's new evolution.
"Grovyle evolved into... Sceptile!" I cheered. Sceptile smirked in response, balling its claws into a fist to represent its determination and newfound strength.
"Well then, the seel is now open to you three. I wish you the best of luck in requesting the assistance of Rayquaza." Wallace stated warmly.
"You're not coming with us...?" I asked hesitantly, pulling away from the embrace I had been sharing with Sceptile. Wallace shook his head gently in response.
"I have to protect my hometown. It is under attack by two ancient Legendary Pokémon." Wallace stated in a matter of fact. Green chuckled.
"Yeah, well, thanks for your help. You can count on us to get Rayquaza out there as soon as possible." Green stated confidently. Wallace nodded in response, turning to ride away on his Gyrados. As he disappeared over the horizon, Green, Gold, and I turned to each other readily.
"Should we start heading up?" Gold asked.
"Yeah.... let's go ask Rayquaza for its help." I stated softly as I began to lead the way into Sky Pillar.
Hang in there, guys, we'll bring Rayquaza soon.(Ruby's POV)
Our battle with Kyogre and Groudon didn't seem to be getting any easier. In fact, after a while of none stop attacking, the two ancient Legendaries began to grow more and more annoyed with our interference. They began to focus less on each other and more on finishing us off. Some of us, like Silver, had been injured by their powerful attacks. I was deeply concerned for the red haired senior Hero, he refused to let Fire tend to his wound and continued to battle despite the pain in his side.
What a tough dude... Silver must've been through a lot in the past.
"I hope Green is okay... Gold and Emerald too..." Blue murmured.
"Don't worry, Emerald is training to be a Pokémon Ranger. There's no doubt she'll find a way to stop Kyogre and Groudon with or without Rayquaza." Sapphire stated confidently.
"I only hope you're right, Sapphire... or else we're in for the fight of our lives." Silver grunted, clutching his side tightly.
"Silver..." I muttered worriedly, yelping as Crystal's Girafarig suddenly through me onto its back and bolted, barely managing to dodge Kyogre's Ice Beam.
"You okay, Ruby?" Crys asked with a tone of concern.
"Y-yeah... Thanks, Girafarig. I owe ya one.... oh man..." I panted as I slid off of Girafarig's back.
"Oi! Unless ya want to see the afterlife in your youth, I suggest that you pay attention!" Leaf exclaimed.
"Alright, alright. Yeesh." I muttered, getting to my feet and dusting myself down a bit as I spoke. I noticed how bruised and beaten I looked, and realized that Fire, Red, Crystal, Leaf, Yellow, Silver, Blue, and Sapphire all looked the same or worse than I did. Even for a Champions like Red and Fire, this battle was still taking its tole.
"Th-they're aiming right for us at the same time!" Yellow squeaked fearfully. Red growled in frustration, pulling his sister into his arms for protection. Though I could never say I know how Red feels about Fire since I've never had a sibling before, I do know that the bonds between a brother and sister are like none other, so I would rightfully defend them. I stood in front of Red and Fire, hoping to at least slow down whatever attack Groudon planned on using. Blue and Sapphire ducked behind Silver as well, meanwhile Yellow and Crystal did the same with Leaf. Each of us brased for impact, but a sudden pair of Pokémon cries made Sapphire and I jolt our eyes open, barely managing to spot the two blurs of red and blue fly past us.
The blurs circled Kyogre and Groudon at blinding speed, causing them to back into each other.
"Wh-what..." I murmured to myself.
"Is that?" Sapphire finished for me, both of us staring at the blurs in awe. Suddenly, the blue blur dived towards me, and the red one towards Sapphire, stopping abruptly in front of us.
"Ruby..."
"Sapphire..."
"We ask of your assistance in battle. Please fight with us." the two blurs, now recognizable as almost identical Pokémon, requested. They were speaking through telepathy, but it was still a sound to behold for someone who has never heard a Pokémon speak human languages.
"Who are you?" I asked in pure shock.
"I am Latios." the blue Pokémon stated in the voice of a man.
"And I am Latias." the red one added with a feminine voice.
"There is no time to talk now though. We shall explain ourselves later. For now..." Latios paused to turn his gaze to Groudon, "we must fight back against those Pokémon until your friends find Rayquaza." Sapphire and I turned to face each other and nod in confirmation.
"Right!" we chorused, jumping onto Latios' and Latias' backs. Sapphire and I checked the information of Latios and Latias in the Pokédex, quickly learning that they too were Legendary Pokémon.
"As of now, Ruby, you are my master. I shall follow your orders for this battle." Latios informed me.
"O-okay... Let's try this then. Latios, Luster Purge!" I commanded shakily. Latios created a ball of energy with its mouth and shot it at Groudon, actually causing the ancient Legendary to cry out in pain. "N-nice!!" I exclaimed.
"Now's not the time to be impressed, master." Latios stated modestly.
"Master Sapphire, let us give our teamwork a try as well." Latias requested.
"Okay, Latias. Let's try this, Mist Ball!!" Sapphire ordered. Latias shot a ball of energy at Kyogre, causing it to cry out in pain just as Groudon did a moment ago.
"You really are a strong pair." Sapphire noted in admiration.
"Alright, Latios, let's give it our all then! We may not know each other exceptionally well, but we can still do our best!" I exclaimed readily.
"Right! Whenever you're ready, master Ruby!!" Latios called back with a booming tone of determination.
"Yeah, now use Dragon Pulse!!" I ordered more firmly than before.
"Latias, you use Dragon Breath!!" Sapphire commanded. The two Dragon type Pokémon speedily flew around Kyogre and Groudon, letting us see them up close and personal as we attacked them with everything we have.
"Alright everyone, keep up the good work!!" I called down to my Pokémon, earning cries of acknowledgement in response.(Fire's POV)
"Ruby's giving it his all up there... Sapphire is too." I stated calmly, feeling a little more at ease knowing that the two Pokémon that came out of nowhere were friendly and apparently willing to help us.
"We've gotta keep doing the same." Yellow stated readily.
"Right, I'm sure Green is doing everything he can to help find Rayquaza, so we've got to put our all in slowing down Kyogre and Groudon." Red added in agreement.
"Sorry I'm late. You guys need a little help?" a familiar voice from behind us asked half jokingly. We turned around to see ten trainers behind us, all of their Pokémon out and ready to fight.
"It's Steven and the Gym Leaders!!" Leaf exclaimed happily. I beamed in response to recognizing the cyan haired man.
"Sorry to keep you waiting. Now then, what do you say we fight these Legendary Pokémon together?" Steven suggested warmly.
"You don't know how relieved I am to hear you ask that." Yellow sighed in relief.
"Then let's give it our all!" Red exclaimed readily.
"Right!!" everyone besides Red chorused in response.
Now we just have to wait for Green, Gold, and Emerald. We believe in you three!(Emerald's POV)
I panted heavily as we reached the roof of Sky Pillar, the high altitude making it hard to breathe. My eyes locked on the long body of bright green that matched my very name perfectly. My gaze met its own, leaving us in a silent stare down. Green and Gold made no sound out of both fear and respect for the Legendary Pokémon. Confidently, I took a step forward, never shifting my gaze from its own as my eyes filled with determination and heart. Building up everything I had stored in me for this moment, I finally spoke up.
"Rayquaza... please, hear my plea." I begged with a firm, calm
tone. This is it, all or nothing. It's finally time to protect Hoenn from the dangers that await it.
