"So... We're not together." A few days later, when you're back at school listening to the PE teacher brief you about sprinting properly.

"What makes you think that?" Jungkook was right next to you, sitting with his legs crossed on the basketball court, still looking like a god in the ugly navy tracksuit, with his sleeves pushed up to his elbows.

"Okay, this classmate has a good stance. See? His balance is on the balls of his feet... And that is how you get in position for startoff."

"So... We are together?"

Jungkook raised an eyebrow, still focused on the demonstration the teacher was doing with Jimin.
"What makes you think that?"

"Jungkook, I don't have time to fuck with you. You're my best friend, and I can't let my stupid feelings mess wth that."

He let out a frustrated sigh. "I know. I need to think about it too. We're putting so much on risk." So he was pondering our relationship too.

Well, what use were feelings? Especially when so many things were in the way?

"Jungkook-ssi, please come up and show the startoff position."

Jungkook stood up gracefully and walked to the front of the class. You couldn't focus on the lesson as your thoughts wandered.
What if Jungkook doesn't actually like me? What if he was just confused and thought he did? Yeah, why would he like such an ugly girl like you?

For the rest of the PE lesson, you tried your best to shove away your thoughts as you sprinted back and forth in a shuttle run on the basketball court.

"What the heck, Minah!" The two of you were in your room, Minah sitting on your bed cross-legged, with you pacing back and forth in front of the TV on the wall.

"I'm sorry! I just don't know how to phrase it to him! And I really don't want him to go off and marry some bratty bitch!" Minah had apparently had some last-minute thoughts about apologizing to her brother and his girlfriend, and you were just infuriated. Absolutely frustrated that Minah couldn't accept his brother finally dating.

Of course, over the last couple of days, after the incident on the beach, Taehyung-oppa had come up to you and asked if Minah had been taking it okay. As a dutiful friend, you told him that she was taking it okay and would come around soon to the idea. It was great to see the smile on his face after that, because it bothered you to no end seeing the obvious guilt on his face when he saw Minah on several occasions at home.

Namjoon and Jin, of course, were out on a business trip, which was very convenient for the two siblings because had they been here, Jin would have motherly scolded them for being so immature while trying to befriend Eunjeong, and Namjoon would have dragged them out to have a serious talk about why it was time that Taehyung should be able to date and they could have dont better in the situation.

As it were, only you and Jungkook were available to help Minah. You texted Jimin the day before yesterday, after Jungkook had mysteriously rejected any form of communication with you, and had suggested that you just let Minah simmer down. Jimin was currently sick and had not been to school for three days. And things with Jungkook had not improved the situation, with only one of you willing to help Minah at a time, refusing to meet each other's eyes or go into each other's rooms.

But now Minah was totally acting up again, fully believing that this rift between her relationship with her brother had been caused by "that wretched witch" and whatnot.

You suddenly stopped pacing. "You know what, I'm not taking this shit any more. Sort yourself out. Your brother is dating, and it's not the end of the world. Minah, grow up." And you walked out and slammed your own bedroom door.
