Jungkook had returned with your drinks, standing a little off to the side, unsure whether or not he should interrupt your conversation or stay where he was. You motioned for him to come towards you and he set the drinks down on the table.
Yoongi was still looking at you intently. "And?" he said a little angrily. "What did he do to you?"
You pulled on Jungkook's arm so he would sit down back in his seat and he patted your hand soothingly, smiling a sad smile at you before just staring at the floor and waiting for you to speak.
Yoongi's eyes didn't miss the motion and he let out a sigh before sitting back, leaning back onto his chair and really just wanting you to tell him what happened.
So you did. Trying to miss out the awful details.
---
"I hope you treat her well," you heard Yoongi say to Jungkook when you went to throw your cups in the trash. It was already evening, and you were ready to say farewell to Yoongi before making your way back home with Jungkook.
"I will." You smile at Jungkook's reply.
"But you know that Yugyeom won't give up so easily, right?" Yoongi said in a low voice. You were confused by that. Give up on what? Bullying me? Then he said further, "I'm disappointed in him, but he's just a misguided kid. It will be hard for you to try to stop him."
Jungkook's next reply confused you even more. "I understand," he sighed, "I just hope that by then we'll have everything sorted and have a stable relationship. And not be interrupted by-" he stopped when he heard footsteps coming back towards them.
"Already making friends with my oppa, Jungkook?" you asked, faking a smile that they took easily, still stuck in thoughts about their conversation.
"Well, kiddos, I'll be heading back to the hotel now. Won't be leaving until next Sunday, so I want to be seeing you again, okay?" Yoongi directed that last part at you, heartily clapping Jungkook on the back before grabbing a coat that hung off the back of his chair before heading out of the cafe.
You stood there waving as he walked out without looking back. This "date" really didn't turn out the way it was expected to, but you supposed you couldn't expect so much if you were going to tell him about Yugyeom. Jungkook made you aware of him by sliding his hand into yours, intertwining your fingers.
"Hey," he said. "Don't think too much about it now. Yoongi-hyung knows what's going on now. He just needs some time to process it. He cares about you and Yugyeom too much, you know?"
"We only really knew each other for two months, Jungkook," you said sadly. "Wishful thinking, but I really wished that Yugyeom had given us more time together."
"Now you can be friends on your own accord, without Yugyeom being the middleman."
You nodded. "I hope so."
He gently guided you to the door of the cafe. You were still staring at the place where Yoongi had faded off into the distance, snapping back to reality as you felt Jungkook's hand on your waist and moving you outside. "Well, he seemed to like you, right? That was good, at least!"
He laughed. "I think it was more a tolerance thing. He tolerates me because he knows I'll treat you well."
You shook your head happily. "Yoongi-oppa is always like that. He'll never tell you directly that he likes you but inside he always cares and looks after you in his own special ways."
"Maybe." He smiled at your childishness, disbelieving.
Well, all in due time, you thought.
"So, you want to come over to my place? For dinner and maybe a movie?"
"Is this actually going to turn into an actual date? If so, then no."
You laughed at that. "You seem to be forgetting that I live with Minah and Taehyung-oppa now. It can't ever be a proper date with them there."
"Then we'd better go before Jin decides not to cook again." He looked down at your face, into your eyes, gobbling up the details and making sure you were really okay before squeezing your hand and leading you back to your house.
---
"Hey, hands off my popcorn!" Minah screamed at Taehyung who had been trying to steal from her bucket for the third time during the movie.
"Guys, stop it," Jungkook said from beside you on the love seat, "we're trying to watch a movie." He was hugging you from the side, often trying to pull you closer as you snuggled into his neck sometimes, at the frequent moments where the scary sounds and gruesome faces got to you.
Yes, they chose to watch a scary movie. Curtesy of Jungkook and Minah.
So you spent the whole movie clinging onto Jungkook like a lifeline, and it wasn't until afterwards you considered that the movie might have been just a ploy to get you to voluntarily move close to him. That idiot.
When the movie was over, Jin called the four of you to dinner, having been notified at 5:39pm to prepare for
