He tried to find you again at break.
"You can pick the song!"
"No."
"I'll ask Mingyu to play the guitar for us!"
"He doesn't even play guitar!"
By now, word had gotten out that you were talking to Yugyeom, so when he finally stopped bothering you at lunch so you could go to your lunch table, you had Minah to deal with.
"You talked to Yugyeom?" she said before you even sat down with your tray of food.
Sliding onto your seat, you said, "I don't know, he keeps asking me if I want to perform with him at the Festival." Minah looked incredulous.
By now, Jungkook and Jimin had arrived from their Geography lesson and were within earshot of the conversation. Before Minah could grill you further, Jimin asked, "You're signing up for the Festival?"
At the same time, Jungkook said, "I only asked you once!"
You scrambled. "No, Jimin-ah! Why would I join that thing? You know I can't dance."
He rolled his eyes. "It's a singing competition, you know."
Minah cut in. "No, Yugyeom was asking her to perform with him! You guys are missing the point."
Jungkook froze at her words and looked at you. "What?"
"Jungkook, he kept asking me the whole morning. We had double Lit."
He still hadn't sat down yet, a sore thumb next to you and Minah and Jimin. Taehyung and the jocks were nowhere to be seen. "Did you accept? Are you performing with him?"
"No! Of course not!" He visibly relaxed. "Sit down, Jungkook. It's fine."
He moved to sit down between you and Jimin. "Sorry. I was a little worried that you would have said yes."
"Hey, don't worry. It's Yugyeom. I wouldn't." You leaned onto him, not hungry anymore.
He laced his fingers through yours and ate with his left hand. "But you're still going to perform with me and Jimin, right?"
You sat up as Jimin choked on his food. "What?" your hand still in Jungkook's.
He smirked. "Let's do something different this year."
Jimin had recovered now, trying to stop Minah from hitting his back to get him to stop choking. "Uh, yeah, sure. Jungkook has a good enough voice."
"But I... Jimin, you know I can't sing."
Jungkook looked at you balefully. "You can't dance. We've never heard you sing properly."
Minah added sarcastically, "Oh, I suppose nobody hears the shower concerts she has at home, right?"
"That's not serious singing," you said to her, seeming unsure about your stance. You didn't want to participate in this Festival, but it didn't feel nice to know that you were bad at something. Especially with such an all-rounded boyfriend.
"Good, then. Jimin, you can fit her in somewhere, right?" he asked.
"Uh, sure. I'll need to rearrange all my songs, though."
"Kookie-ah, stop bothering Jimin. I really don't want to join."
"Jimin doesn't feel bothered, does he?"
