"Me?" He nodded. "Are you sure?"
He rolled his eyes. Everyone seemed to like doing that these days. "Yes, you. Do I have to repeat myself?"
You glanced at Minah, then at Jungkook, seeing that they both looked very tense and a little confused, and said, "Sure."
Yugyeom pointed to a clearing that was still in clear view, outside of any of the group areas, but out of earshot. "Let's go there." You motioned for him to go first, waiting for him to have turned around before smiling reassuringly at Jungkook and Minah before following after him.
They didn't look very convinced.
"So what do you want to talk about?" you crossed your arms, standing at the very edge of a group's camping area, it might have been Eunha's, you could see her bright pink backpack resting on a cropping of rocks outside the tent.
"I wanted to apologize," Yugyeom laid his hands out in an apologetic gesture, keeping a small distance between you, "I know you want to pretend nothing happened and that you never knew me before Busan High, but I can't get this guilt off my chest."
"Then don't. I don't need your apology."
You started to turn away, but Yugyeom called you back, "Wait!"
You turned back warily, assessing him and his intentions. Deciding to just bear with it, you said, "Fine. But make it quick. I want to forget about it once and for all."
He relaxed a little. "Alright. First of all, I'm really sorry about what happened at school before-" You cut him off.
"Please don't apologize for that. I can't forgive you."
"-I had temper issues," he finished his sentence.
You didn't know how to reply for a second. Then you answered cautiously, "And are you better now?"
Yugyeom shook his head solemnly. "Well, maybe. I actually moved to Busan because of the doctors here. It's still true that my dad's business is taking him here, though."
"Well, the second thing?" You weren't ready to forgive something like this yet. He might have had an excuse, but you need time to mull over it.
"I haven't finished apologizing yet. I'm sorry for making you feel like you weren't worth anyone's time, and that I had hurt you so much in the short time that you were in Seoul," you nodded, a little numb to what he was saying, still trying to absorb everything. He started again, "The second thing is, I've noticed that you've been ignoring me, which I guess is normal, with everything I've done and all, but I want you to recognize that I'm trying to change. I never meant to hurt you before..." He looked at you, finally taking in your expression and stopping.
You took a small breath before stating, "Thank you for telling me. I need some time to think over this, sorry." Then you rushed back to your group area, leaving Yugyeom watching you walk away.
---
At your tent, only Minah was there, everyone else having left for their class meeting and Jungkook having walked a little way away to watch your conversation with Yugyeom.
You hugged Minah and cried, scaring her before she hugged you back tightly. "What happened?" she rubbed your back lightly after you'd let each other go. Jungkook had trudged back slowly and after seeing you in tears, he had ran the rest of the way to crouch next to you and Minah outside the tent.
"H-He, apologized," you said through your sobs. "I-I'm o-o-okay."
Minah and Jungkook looked at each other and back at you. Minah asked, "He apologized? For... what you tokd me about?"
"Y-Yeah."
Jungkook went closer and brought arm around your shoulders as Minah had her arm around your waist. The three of you sat like that for a while in the tent, feeling the breeze in your face and listening to the chatter of all the other people at the campsite.
"Class A and D, to the common ground now, please!" Ms Lee called out.
