I made it! Cali University. I walked straight to the administration office. I knew right where it was. My coma's version of the college was inexplicably accurate.

"Hi, may I help you?" asked a honey coated voice. I turned around.

"Yes, I'm looking for  my friend's dorm number," I said.

"What is the name of your 'friend' and do you know which building he's in?"

"His name is Thomas."

"Last name? There's a lot of people named Thomas here."

"Charre. Thomas Charre."

"He is in the Everleaf building, it's-"

"I know where that is, thank you." I said. It's originally where I was supposed to be dormed. If that's how you word it. And, I guess where my brain decided I would be dormed.

"Uh, miss?" said the secretary as I was almost out the door.

"Yes?"

"Room 34C floor three."

"Oh, thank you. That might be helpful." I said, and raced out of the building. I got lost. My brain didn't actually know where the Overleaf building was. I looked at a map.

"Hey, can I help?" said a male voice.

"Umm, yeah," I said, still looking at the map. "I need to find the-" I stopped talking as soon as I was fully turned around. I was looking straight at Thomas.

"Madi?" he looked on the verge of tears.

"Thomas!" I cried, and left into his arms.

"You're okay, you're... you're here, how did you get here, when did you wake up, I have things I should tell you..."

"thomas, Thomas, calm down, I'll explain everything. I just came here to tell you that-"

"Thomas? The is she ?" said a female voice. It sounded like it came straight from New Jersey. Crap. He has a girlfriend.

"This is, uhh. My best friend, Madalyn." he said, wiping at tears.

"Yeah, sure. And I'm Marilyn Monroe. You're cheating!" she cried. "i knew it! I felt like you were, with all that time you needed to yourself, I knew it! You-"

"Hold up. He's telling the truth. I'm his best friend. I've been in a coma for the past year and I came to see him because, well, i'm not in a coma anymore."

"Bull-"

"You want proof?" I pulled out a newspaper article, from a year ago. it had my picture, and it told about the car wreck and my coma. I shoved it at her. "There's proof. I was in a coma. I missed a year. A year of absolutely everything. School, experiences, I'm behind. I haven't seen my best friend in a year. A YEAR. I came here to say hi, and catch up, get to know him again. I've known him since he was born, we know everything about each other, until last year. Now I don't know." I was crying, but I refused to feel sad. "Thomas, Thomas is a great kid, a good person, he wouldn't cheat. Never in a million years. He doesn't do that. Don't just make assumptions. Just, please, let me catch up with my best friend." I said, tears falling like Niagra Falls.

"Yeah, yeah, okay sure." she said. She gave Thomas a quick kiss and walked away. My stomach turned at the sight.

"Madi, wow. You, you defended me. I don't even..."

"Look. I just want to catch up."

"What did you come here to tell me?" he asked.

"Oh, I'll tell you later."

"Okay. Give me a second." he ran towards the girl, his, girlfriend. I felt like vomiting.

"I CAN'F BELIEVE YOU! YOU ARE LEAVING ME?! WHY? IT'S BECAUSE OF HER, ISN'T IT!" It was his girl-ex. Ex-girlfriend. I liked saying that more.

"Thomas, you-"

"I broke up with her because she jumped to conclusions and thought the worst of me. I can't be with someone like that." He smiled.

"Wow," I was shocked. He wasn't as immature as I remembered.

"Let's get to my dorm and we can catch up, okay?"
