7:30 am "Pill"

"Ugh!" I turn over, take my pill, set an alarm for 8:30 and go back to sleep.

8:30 am

I press the stop button on the alarm and sit up.

"Shower first or breakfast first?" I ask myself, eyes still closed. "I'm hungry now." I stand and walk to the door, eyes somewhat open to see where to walk.

"Mooooom." I yawn.

No answer. I walk to her room and open the door to see her still asleep so I close the door slowly and head to the kitchen.

"So it's my turn to wake her up with amazing breakfast smells." I wipe my eyes and wash my hands after.

I cook omelettes. Mine with eggs, of course, ham, spinach, tomatoes and cheese, Mom's the same but also with jalapeños.

I set the table and give myself a glass of apple juice (I'm still a child) and my mom coffee.

I walk down the hallway and knock on moms door and open it. "Hey lazy bones wake up breakfast is ready." I go back to the kitchen leaving her door open.

I sit down and look up to see my mom walking into the kitchen rubbing her eyes.

"Morning sleepyhead." I say stuffing a piece of omelet into my mouth.

"Morning." She yawns.

"You must've taken a whole sleeping pill last night huh?" I ask.

"Yeah I did. I couldn't sleep." She admits.

"Well I made you breakfast," I point, "have a seat."

She sits down, sugars her coffee and adds creamer. "You're not grumpy this morning... why?"

"Wow. Can't I be happy this early in the morning at least sometimes?" I gasp, playing hurt.

"Uh, no." She answers.

"Well okay then. I'm just ready for the game tonight." I say with a bounce.

"Oh yeah. I forgot about the game." She takes a sip of coffee.

"I didn't. I'm pumped, it's homecoming!" I drink some juice.

"Yeah, yeah. I only watch football on TV and only the Longhorns." she takes a bite.

"That's definitely not true. We always watch football Mom." I remind her.

"Okay well so far this season it's only been the Longhorns." She says.

"Ehh. I guess so." I take my last bite and stand to put the dishes in the sink.

"So I take it I'm on clean up duty like always?" She stands.

"Would you please?" I laugh and start to the stairs.

"Do I have a choice?" She stretches her arms.

"Hmm. Shouldn't this be the other way around?" I ask.

"Whatever, go on and do something." She shrugs.

"I love you mooom." I trail away.

"Love you tooooo." She replies.

I go into my room and close the door. "Shower, makeup, outfit and chill." I plan my day out.

I plug my phone into the speaker and play my country playlist.
