Knocking on door

"Paige!" Mom yells from the other side of my door.

"Yeah?" I say groggily and turn to look at my phone.

7:00 am

"Get up and get ready for school." She says.

"Is it Monday already?" I roll off the bed and stand.

"Yeah. Let me know when you want breakfast." She tells me before walking away.

"I will thanks." I answer.

I drag my feet on the carpet into the bathroom and plug my phone into the speaker. I turn on my music (you guessed it, country) and turn on the shower.

15 minutes later.

I get out of the shower and sit on the toilet for about 15 more minutes because I'm lazy.

7:30 am "Pill"

I take my pill and put down my phone to get ready.

Makeup? Check. Hair?, if a basic braid into a ponytail counts, then, Check. Outfit? Currently picking that out...

"What shall I wear today?" I think.

I take out some dark jeans and a plain white t-shirt along with my cowboy boots.

"I'm feeling a little country today." I laugh as I put on the clothes.

I grab my charger and headphones and throw them into my backpack. I walk to the door and down the stairs.

"I'm ready mom. Are you?" I ask.

"Yes girl I've been ready." She replies.

"Calm down I was just asking." I defend.

"So I'm not sure what you want so there is cereal in the pantry." She shrugs and takes a sip of coffee.

"Okay then I guess I'll eat cereal." I click my boots against the floor towards the pantry.

"I'm about head out. I have to be at work at 8:30 and it's like 8 now." She tell me as I pour the milk into the bowl after the cereal.

"Oh okay then go ahead. I'll be fine." I say.

"I know you will, you're a senior, my baby is all grown up." She says wiping a fake tear from the corner of her eye.

"Whatever mom. Have fun at work." I kiss her cheek and shoo her away.

"Alright, alright. Love you." She says.

"Love you too mom. I'll see you tonight." I wave as she closes the door behind her.

I stand and pour the remaining milk out of the bowl and rinse it.

"Okay let me grab a water and I'll head out." I tell myself.

I get a water and grab my backpack and keys to lock the door. After locking the door I go to my truck and pull myself in.

"Sometimes I wonder why I jacked the truck up so high." I say breathing irregularly from the significant exercise this early.

"I need to start working out." I laugh and drive to school.

I pull into the student lot and see a lot of kids standing near a car.

"Well I'm not parking over there." I tell myself.

I pull into a spot towards a corner and turn of the ignition. I hop out, grab my bag and lock the truck before tossing the keys into the pocket of my jeans.
