You were torn between dashing to the bedroom to change into something cute and wanting to keep peering out the side window to watch Noah's backside as he worked. He wasn't a thin man; he had a nice bit of meat on his bones. And since you weren't a thin girl either, that was all fine with you. Down on his knees beside the bike, Noah flipped his ponytail back over his shoulder with one hand. The gesture was so sexy that your mouth dropped open a little and a gray circle of fog appeared on the glass.

"Get a grip on yourself, girl." You muttered quietly and wiped at the foggy window.

Noah's hands worked steadily with the tools and you found yourself jealous of the way he was gripping the wrench in one hand and stroking the bike wheel with the other. It had been so long since a man had stirred anything within you, that it took a moment to recognize the sensation.

"Uhhhhhhhhhhh..." You groaned and finally tore your gaze away from the window.

With your decision made, you snatched up the half-empty pizza box and soda bottle from the table, deposited it quickly in the kitchen and made a run for your bedroom to find something cute to change into.

"Get off...get off...get off..." The old comfortable pullover was dragged up over your head and then you tossed it to the floor. Kicking the discarded garment under the bed with your foot, you scanned the closet for something colorful and stylish. Spying your fanciest party blouse, you shoved your arms into the sleeves and began to button it up. Your hand hesitated on the top few buttons.

"Cleavage? Or no cleavage?" You said aloud as you looked down at your ample bosom. You tried to decide if showing him the girls so soon might make you look too desperate. You had a great set of boobs and you were sure Noah would like to see them, but maybe that was too much this early in the game.

"Cleavage." Came the male voice from directly behind you.

Closing your eyes, you dropped your head. "Why can't I just die?" You thought the thought and then immediately pushed it away. You didn't want to die and miss getting to know Noah. He excited you like no man ever before and you didn't want to let him get away before you knew if he felt the same way about you. So you lifted your head and turned to face him. "You're kinda sneaky. Are you sure you aren't an axe murderer?"

Noah took a step toward you and you felt the heat rise to your face. Whisps of his blonde hair had come loose around his face and you wanted to reach out and feel the silky strands between your fingers. His eyes darted from your eyes to your cleavage and back up again. When his lips parted and you saw the tip of his tongue as he started to speak, your knees almost buckled with desire.

"I need..." He started and you began to nod because you knew what he needed and you needed it too. You needed his hands on you and his mouth on yours. You knew that was exactly what both of you needed. "I need..." He leaned closer and began to lift his hands.

"I need to wash my hands." He said abruptly and his oil stained hands were suddenly in your face and the smell of grease assaulted your nose.

"Yesssss..." You drew out the word as your mind scrambled to change direction. "Bathroom's right there." Pointing with your nose, you didn't dare raise your hands. They were shaking with embarrassment and disappointment.

Plopping down heavily on the side of the bed, you folded your hands in your lap. The thoughts that ran through your mind weren't the ones you might have expected. You weren't concerned about having a strange man sneak up behind you with grease on his hands. You weren't even stressing over the whole comedy of errors that the last hour with Noah had brought.

Your thoughts turned to an idea that had been in your mind for months since you moved to Alaska. You truly wanted it to be summer. You wanted to put on your bathing suit and go to a warm sunny beach. And now, a new piece was added to your dream. You wanted to turn to the side and see Noah lying on the sand beside you, his smile loving and sweet.

You looked down at your plump thighs straining the fabric of your jeans and you sighed. This short time with Noah had reawakened so many stirrings and yearnings that you had pushed down for so long. You wanted to get to know him and have him know you. You wanted everything but you were afraid he would go away and leave you with nothing.

"Did I mention that you are so beautiful?" Noah said as he stepped from the bathroom.

Not surprised anymore at his sudden appearances, you kept your head down. "Noah, I'm not beautiful." You hadn't meant to say those pathetic sounding words. Where did they come from?

"Are you calling me a liar?" His eyebrow raised, Noah moved closer to the bed and closer to your heart.

"I'm just saying you can't really look at me like...this..." You gestured to your body and wondered why you couldn't shut up. "And say it's beautiful."

When Noah dropped to his knees in front of you, it took everything within you not to cry. But in spite of your efforts, the first tear that leaked from your eye rolled down your cheek and you did nothing to stop it.

"Have a few extra pounds really made you so blind?" His voice was soft and he took your hand in his as he spoke. "Your weight is your choice. You should strive to be happy and healthy and you decide what size you need to be in order for that to happen."

Your throat closed with emotion at his words. You knew what he was saying was true, but hearing it from this man you wanted so much to be close to, brought with it a stabbing ache in your heart. You knew very well what you wanted to do and you opened your mouth to tell him, but Noah wasn't done.

"Each time I look at you I see a woman who is smart and funny and strong and slightly crazy." You chuckled and bit at your bottom lip. "And I want to know more about you. Whoever you are, whatever you have to offer, I want to know more. I want to do things with you and go places with you." Noah watched your face as he spoke.

"Can I tell you want I want?" You dared to whisper. You dared to tell this lovely stranger of your heart's desire.

"I want to know." He smiled and squeezed your hand in his.

Taking a deep breath and leaning close, you said,

"I want to get to know you. I want to run with you in the winter and play with you in the snow. I want to welcome the spring with you when the skies are bright and the world is full of new life. But more than anything, I want it to be summer. I want to put on a bathing suit and go to the beach where we can lay on the sand and feel the warm summer sun on our skin."

Noah's smile was wide as he rose to his feet and pulled you up with him. You wanted to get closer; you wanted to feel his body pressing to yours. His hand slid slowly along your cheek as you took a step. And when you took that one step, you realized with horror that your discarded pullover sweater you had kicked under the bed, was snagged on your toe and being dragged along with you.

But before you could moan at your horrid luck and wish once more for death to come swiftly, Noah's lips pressed onto yours. The softness of the kiss quickly gave way to a passion that seared your mind and set fire to your soul. You shook your foot slightly to dislodge the sweater, not caring where it landed as your hopeful heart offered up a silent request to the heavens;

"Please don't kill me now."
