on teenage years and limited capacity

we're just teens searching for a way out of our own heads

and we're all just looking for someone to save us from ourselves
because we refuse to believe that we have the capacity to save ourselves
and we don't want to believe it
because that's not how the stories go

and we're dying because we're waiting for someone who will never come
and we're waiting for something that will never change

and things will never change
because we never ask them to
because we never ask politely
and we never try
because we convince ourselves we don't care

so no one cares
and no one lives
and everyone dies
and we all deserve it
because we can't just look at our feet

And we can't get out of our heads
