•i used to think that poetry and God could not possibly coexist,
that the words of a broken man got to be that way with a lack of faith
or too much of it
i used to think that the words of a poem defied the Word of God
because that kind of honesty is simply savagery wrapped in ribbons of doubt
and desire
but I've found that the words of a godly man are no different than those of any other
we are all people
and we are all waiting for our doubt to be untied,
to be ripped into like a gift
and we are all praying that what we find inside is what we want it to be- ch
