She is gone

*Jesse's pov*

Why does this always happen to me ?
What did I ever do wrong ?

The whole group was out on a search for Petra....all they found was her sword....

That stupid girl....she could have told us what she had seen.....doesn't she know by all these experiences that going alone NEVER works out ? .

Why am I mad at her ?
This is after all ....my fault...everything is.....
If I had saved Petra on that day..... none of this would have even happened.

I cried.....I cried badly.....I cried myself to sleep...

Dreams....
They haunted me...
Showing me memories of that day........replaying Petra's death again and again....and once I was finally broken..the scene shifted to me almost drowning and Petra saving me......

"You should have just died that day....it would have been better for all"

These words kept playing on repeat.....

Then the scene shifted to yesterday evening....when me and Petra enjoyed....laughing.....joking....happy....

Then it changed to her going into the woods ...then ...the ear piercing scream........

"Is she dead? Is she alive? You will never know"

Then i saw a scene where she was tortured.....I screamt

"Is it better if she died than suffer ?"

I cried....

"This is just the start of your punishment...."

"The criminal always gets punished......and the victim....suffers...."

"How does it feel like to know ......that you are the reason she is being tortured....How does it feel to know....soon....she will resent you....she will hate you......How does it feel to see her die in front of you...and her last words being 'I hate you' ....?"

I coverd my ears..I couldn't take it...

"Maybe ...you should just die....of all this guilt...."

I ....felt like....I should...

"Maybe I should......"

I gave up.....i was ready to die....i couldn't take it anymore....

There was a knife on the floor next to me....

I looked up and saw Petra being electrocuted.....

I grabbed the knife.....faced it right at my heart....closed my eye....pulled back to get the force...

"NOO JESSE"

"Petra ?"

"DON'T DO THIS"

"Stay strong.....i can't save you this time.....but i need you to save yourself"

I cried...

"Jesse......Don't believe what they say......I will love you no matter what...."

"Petra....i caused you this..."

"This is not your fault......but I need you...to rescue me......"

"I don't know where you are ....."

"Through...the woods...lake...enter.....breach.....other side....i can't say....They are .....they are.....i can't breath......Jesse....help me......i need you.... "

"Wait petra ......"

"YOU CAN DO IT"

"Pet-"

The ground opened beneath me....i fell....

I opened my eyes.......Lukas was holding me down......

"WOAH JESSE.....CALM....NOTHING HAPPENED"

"IS...Is Petra okay ?"

"We didn't find her...."

Tears welled up in my eyes...

Then....the dream came back to me....Petra ...she told me....where she was...

"Petra spoke to me"

"Jesse.....you ...need to rest"

"Lukas i am not going crazy...listen"

"Ok ....."

"I had this dream and...."

I told Lukas what had happened

"If what you said is true....then....we need to go check it out"

We went outside...

"So jesse....what did petra say exactly?" Jess asked

"I can't remember ......she said something about.....a lake in the woods and a breach through it....."

"Do you think its the one we came through ?"

We all stared at Axel .....

"I mean....it was a breach....in a lake....in the woods...."

"AXEL YOU ARE A GENIUS" jess yelled

"I am?...oh.....of course i am"

We headed towards the lake....and we did see the light......

"Woah....there it is......" lukas said

Without hesitation, i jumped into the water.....and swam towards the light...

Axel pulled me out....

"Jesse.....hold up....it might be dangerous"

"Wait....didn't we establish that the portal is a one way ....like only creatures from this world can enter.....and can't come back ?" Jess asked

"But then ...how did petra get through ?" That world Olivia asked

"The wraiths or some spirits took her......they can manipulate anything" lukas explained.

"Guys....i will go....." i said

"Me axel and Olivia are coming along" lukas said

"No...."

"Jesse ....its too dangerous....."

"I don't care....i need to save her on my own"

They all hesitated...

"Fine brother....." jess.....

"Thank you sister"

I dived into the water....and swam towards the light....and soon...that pull returned....same one i felt the first day.......

I got sucked in....

I saw a white room.....didn't petra say something like this when she first came here ?

There were cracks.....and world opening.....

Some black ghosts flew....

Then i was sucked in somewhere else....

I was in water.......

The lake............of ...the other side......

"Petra .....i will find you"
