Alejandra
  Beep

  Beep

Beep…

What is that sound? It’s been disturbing me for sometime.

“Alejandra?” a familiar voice called me.

Fernando.

“Ale. Squeeze my hand if you can hear me.”

I followed his instructions.

“Good now, try opening your eyes. ”

I tried but my eyelids felt heavy.

I tried again and this time I was successful.

Fernando was standing next to me. I was in the hospital. The everything from the walls to my gown were a startling white.

  I tried to move but I stopped when pain spread through out my body.

  The beeping sound accelerated just like my panic did. I looked for the source of the sound. I felt stupid when I realized that it was only the heart monitor.

Fernando adjusted my pillows and I was a bit more comfortable.

  “Thanks.”

Apart from a few bruises I also had a fractured leg. Urrgg… the misery.

“Can we talk?Alejandra. ” he frowned.

  “Sure .” I said with a tiny smile on my face.

“Why did you try committing suicide? ” the tiny smile disappeared.

“What?”

“You heard me.” he said through clenched teeth. The cold look in his eyes caused my anger to flare up.

“You think I tried to kill myself! ”

“Well you’ve tried it before haven't you.” he snared.

I was shocked. He didn't even try to ask me or let me explain myself.

“Well, that’s your opinion. As far as am concerned I knew I was pregnant before the accident and I wouldn't try and hurt my own child.So if you cannot trust me please get out. ” I said in a cold voice.

“Ale listen-”

“Go Fernando. I don't want to see you here again. I will call you if you need to know anything about my child. ”

He looked defeated and his shoulders slumped.

God just kill me right now.

Wait my baby. Please tell me I didn't loose my child.

The door opened and the doctor walked in.

When the doctor left I was a bit more calm. I didn't loose the baby. But I might have lost my husband.

I heard a vibrating sound. It was my phone. There was a note beside it.

Oh Karina, always so thoughtful. I knew I didn't make a mistake making you my best friend.

I grabbed my phone and I had a new message from an unknown number.

  'I have Fernando's sister. If you want her back come to a cabin in the woods a two hour drive east of the city. Please say hi to your husbands little blonde girlfriend. Love your first man.'
