In all actuality, I really do believe Satoshi should have noticed me leaving the house so often but never once has he mentioned it. Perhaps he's too busy with scribbling in his notebook like a madman to notice his niece sneaking out of the house. That, or I am that sneaky. It would be shameful in all honesty if I couldn't go undetected after all the intense training I was forced to go through. Then that would just prove every distasteful thing that Satoshi has said about my training to be true. I sat at the table of the dinning table with a small plate of fruit, I was home alone thankfully, Satoshi was out of the house, probably out terrorizing little kids for fun. I feel like that's the only way he gets any joy out of his life, that weirdo. All he ever does is terrorize me, every other elder in this damned village, and scribble in his old crusty notebook.
I wonder what he spends all day scribbling about in that notebook. My eyes land on the old wooden desk by the door, his notebook was laying on top of the desk, I popped a piece of strawberry in my mouth before slowly rising out of my chair. My body ached from the night before but it was something I've grown accustomed to with being raised by my horrible Uncle. I cautiously walked towards the old desk. I wouldn't like to admit it but, my uncle is still someone who haunts me.
My actions will always be cautioned when in his household or in his presence for that matter. My fingers lightly slid across the spine of the worned down notebook before opening to the latest entry, I skimmed the page before flipping through the entire notebook. My uncle was a very creepy man, even his handwriting looked threatening. I flipped back to the last entire of the notebook, it had today's date scribbled in the top left corner
'Let's see what the creep plans to do today'
After that, I'll put the book right back, I may be cocky but not enough confidence to keep the notebook in my hands any longer. I furrowed my brows in confusion, there was only one sentence written in bold across the entire page.
"It's time to awaken what has been dormant for so long, awake the rebellion!" 5:42
I stared at the page for a minute before understanding what he had meant. I felt my heart sink into my stomach, I quickly grabbed my bag that I usually used during training and stuffed the notebook inside. I touched my side, feeling reliefed once I felt the hilt of my sword brush against my fingers as I ran out the door. My mind was racing. What was he going to do to awaken it? Where was he? I needed to find Ryuu, get him to safety and anyone else I could save
5:42
What time was it now? I halted to a stop, looking around at my surroundings. The streets that were usually filled with people were now empty and seemed almost deserted, I spotted a blur of brown rushing towards me as I frantically looked around for anyone. My mind was filled with so many questions that I could barely focus on the face in front of me.
"Ryder, something big is happening. I don't know what but everyone was told to meet at the plaza, do you know what's happening?" Ryuu asked gripping my shoulders tightly, trying to get me to focus.
"What time is it, Ryuu?" I asked barely able to speak at a normal speed.
"Why does that matter? C'mon I wanna know what's happen-"
Cutting him off I grabbed him by his face, gripping onto him as hard as I could. "What. Time. Is.IT?" I shouted, my voice slowly rising in a frantic manner.
"I dunno like 5:30?" My heart burst. "The time we had to meet at the plaza." He said slowly in confusion. It was too late to do anything now.
"We need to go, now!" I wrapped my arms around his wrist tightly and dragged him alongside me as I ran to the plaza. Ryuu kept questioning me but I couldn't speak, my mind was barely able to form a single thought. My mouth wouldn't be able to form another sentence.
